Slowly the world seems to stop around me

As if you are lying beside me

My eyes are shut, but my mind's wide open

Waiting for a key, a certain token

A realization of who I am

Appears when you hold my hand

A spark, a bright flicker in this world of darkness

A softness that stands out amongst the sharpness

The happiness you bring to me

Makes us in perfect harmony

A beautiful kind of melody

That I hear only when you're around me

My mind's wide open, taking in the sights, the sounds

The music and the feelings that are floating around

Flying on the breeze they drift into my ears

They heal my broken heart and dry my broken tears

Just like you did those many years ago,

These notes and measures help me forget  my everlasting sorrow

The words you always said to me, all they were were lies

You had me thinking you would catch me, so I flew into the skies

And on my journey skyward, the music played, so sweet

The notes danced into my ears and lifted up my feet

Your voice encouraged flying higher, up above the stratosphere

Your laughter and your kind words, your shouting and your cheers

But alas, I was not meant to fly

I started falling, down, thinking you would try

I thought you'd be there to catch me, when I fell from the clouds

But you weren't you left me, and I crashed into the ground.

You were supposed to be a safety net

And you, I never would forget

But apparently I have to

But it's hard, since all we've been through

I thought that you cared for me,

Were happy with me, Loved  me

But I guess my imagination went loose

And that's why I write this from the neck of a noose.
