Snowspot and I ran back through the tunnel into the center of camp. I saw Firestar emerge from his den closely followed by Sandstorm. Sitting close to Highrock, I heard the familiar call, "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey join here beneath the Highrock for a Clan meeting." Snowspot settled down next to me. "You know something, don't you Gingerpaw?" he asked. I sighed. "Yes, but I'm not telling." That instant all the warriors, apprentices, queens, and elders gathered together, Sandstorm looked very excited. Leaping down to the dirt, Firestar sat on his hind paws. "Gingerpaw, please come here." I saw Snowspot give me a questioning side glance. I padded up to my father, his sharp eyes staring down at me. "I, Firestar, leader of ThunderClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior." He paused looking at me with a glimmer of amusement in his eyes. "Gingerpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?" I looked him dead in the eye, "I do" my voice quivering with excitement. "Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your warrior name: Gingerpaw, from this moment you will be known as Gingerfur. StarClan honors your bravery and your strength, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan." Firestar placed his muzzle on top my head. Bowing my head I licked his shoulder.

In a wave of mews a chant started, "Gingerfur! Gingerfur!" My ears perked, Snowspot's meow was to loudest of all. I knew in that second I was in love with Snowspot.
