Chapter one

I stood in front of the mirror just staring at myself. Dirty blond hair in a messy bun my grey eyes are red and swollen. I'm pretty short compared to my parents. My mom was 5'7" and my dad was 6'3" and I'm only 5'4" I wonder who I got that from. I'm not sure how long I stood there but when I hear my name being called from downstairs it startles me out of my pensive thoughts and reminds me why I'm all packed up. I'm moving across the U.S. To stay with my moms sister. Why you ask. Because 6 days ago my parents died in a car crash. I still find it hard to believe. My father was one of the strongest alphas in the country. How could they be gone.

Sighing I went downstairs carrying my backpack. In the kitchen I find my fathers beta Aiden waiting for me.

"Hey Zoe you ready to go?" He says as he come over to give me a hug.

"I wish I could just stay here I don't want to leave the pack. I don't want to leave my home and start over in a place I know nothing about".

Returning his hug I wished I could turn back time and could have kept my parents from leaving. Then none of this would be happening. Aiden pulled away and just looked at me for a minute.

"I'll go and get the rest of your stuff and load it in the truck your flight leaves soon. We need to hurry. I'll meet you outside ok kiddo"

      "I'm not a kid" I grumble.

I'll be 18 in about 3 and a half weeks. Just thinking about having a birthday without my parents makes me want to cry again but I take a deep breath and head out to the truck.

"Flight 156 to Tacoma, Washington now boarding".

Sighing I turned.

" Bye Aiden. Call me ok?"

"Sure kid I'll keep you updated on pack business. Have a safe flight ok. And call me when you land. If you need anything I'm here for you Zoe".

Looking up at him I just wanted to beg him not to make me do this but I knew it would just be a waste of time and would make this whole thing harder. So I just gave him a hug saying ok. I picked up my bag and went to check in without looking back.

I sat in my seat and closed my eyes as I plugged in my head phones hoping to sleep through this entire flight. I don't know why but I just felt in the pit of my stomach that things were about to really go to hell.

**A/N** SORRY FOR THE SHORT CHAPTER I JUST WANTED TO GET SOMETHING OUT THERE. I WILL UPDATE AS OFTEN AS I CAN BUT IT WILL STILL BE PRETTY SLOW.
