"What are you doing here?" I whispered, trying not to wake everyone else in the house. Although it didn't feel like any sound came out of my mouth.

But I know it did because Nathan looked right at me when I said it, and he looked at me with these scary eyes. These strident, electrifying, blue eyes. Then his upper lip curled up in a sneer and it made me want to punch him in the face. ButI can't punch him in the face. I can't punch a 12 year old in the face. Even though he had the figure of someone just under 30 he still had that innocent baby face.

"C'mon Nora. Just come with me." Nathan snarled.

"You've been gone for 16 years and you just expect me to drop everything and leave?" I hushed back.

"If you don't leave now they'll figure out what you are- what we are. Nora, please-"

I jolted up in my bed so fast my head hit the wall.I rubbed the spot with one hand, and wiped the sweat off my forehead with the other. The room was still dark, and the digital clock on my otherwise empty side table read 4:37am. Yep, no way I was going to get anymore sleep now.

                                                                        -------------------------------

ONE OF THE doctors walked past my room and knocked on the door and said, "Nora, it's time to get up. It's you're last day."

Time to get up. Yeah okay, because it's not like I've been up for almost four hours, just waiting.I swung my feet to the side of the bed and stepped onto the cold hardwood floor and got out. I didn't bother making the bed. I snuck a quick peek out the window; it was just starting to snow, but it never stayed on the ground, even in the beginning of December.

There was a change of clothes on the foot of the bed, sitting on the beige sheets. Usually I would wear something basic like a black or white t-shirt with blue jeans. But since it was a big day, Kaylin –my doctor- decided that I should wear something a little bit more special, she bought me a dark green sweater with black skinny jeans. On top of the pile of clothes was note that read;

Nora,

I see you more as my friend than one of my patients, and although I am sad that I will no longer be seeing you here everyday, I am beyond excited that you finally get togo home today. And I knew there was no way you could see your family wearing something simple and plain. :)

See you real soon.

Kaylin.

The note made me smile, and when I changed into the new, comfy clothes, I folded the piece of paper and saved it in my pocket.

"Nora, I know you're awake so hurry on and get out here." The same doctor walked by, knocking on the door. It started to annoy me,because really, what rush were we in? Niall wasn't coming until the evening. But I still did what the Doctor said because I wasn't really in the mood in getting in trouble on my last day here.

I looked at my reflection in the mirror. I didn't really like looking at my reflection, and it wasn't because I disliked the way my white-blonde hair laid flat and dry around me, or my pale skin due to the lack of sunlight. It was because of the dark circles underneath my eyes that would never disappear. It made me yawn just looking at myself.

I took the envelope that I usually kept under my pillow that was addressed my two-year-old self in the pocket along with Kaylin's note, and walked out the room, hopefully for the very last time.

                                                                       -------------------------------

Walking down the hall with the rush of several other patients, we went into what was labelled 'the Dining Hall" which really, was just a cafeteria with several picnic tables. Although, the room wasn't much of a picnic, it was total chaos.
