We Found Love in a Hopeless Place

Chapter 2

Dylan's POV:

The party was now starting to come to an end. I was heading to my car, when I saw that girl, Rose, standing alone.

"Hey, Rose!" I yell to her. She slightly jumps, gasps, and turns around. She sighs with relief realizing it's me.

"Oh, hey, Dylan."

"What are you doing out here all lonesome?" 

"Well, I think my friend ditched me, although it doesn't seem like something she would do.."

"Well, I can't let you walking to your place alone in the dark, let me give you a ride. I couldn't let a girl like you getting kidnapped, killed, or raped."

"Too late," it sounded like she said under her breath, but I couldn't tell. And before I could ask, she says, "I guess that'll be fine."

"But I'm going to have to get your number."

"Now why is that?" she inquires playfully.

"Well, if your friend doesn't show up, I don't want you to be all alone."

"Hand me your phone," she says. I hand it to her, and she puts in her number. She tosses the phone back to me and gets in the car.

I get in the car and drive off. On the way to the place she's staying, the car was silent but not like an awkward silence, but a comfortable one. We arrive and I hurry up and go over to her door and open it for her.

"Aww, no one's ever done that for me before," she says, astonished. 

I found that hard to believe but I said, "There's a first time for everything."

"I guess there is," she says. She starts to leave but stops, turns around, and asks, "Err, would you like to stay with me? Just until my friend comes back?"

"Why not?" I say. I follow her up to her room and we sit on the bed and watch TV. 

Then she says, "Umm, I kind of like to cuddle before I fall asleep.. I don't want to make you feel uncomfortable, but.."

"Sure," I say as I prop myself against the headboard of the bed. She then snuggles into my chest, and I put my arm around her. After a couple of minutes, she starts making cute little snores. And it didn't take long until I fell asleep, too.
