Chapter 1

Nicki
"I don't know Linda, these numbers don't look good" I was on the phone with one of my clients taking about her finances. I am an accountant and I love what I do, but it's moments like this that make me feel horrible, giving people bad news just tears me up inside.
"How bad is it Nicki" Linda responded sounding upset.
"I think you should come in and talk to me face to face at your earliest convenience.
"Ok." Linda said sounding like she was holding back tears.
"Listen Linda, I don't want you to stress over this, just focus on taking care of that little bundle of joy you have ok."
"Ok, thank you Nicki,"
"Of course. I'll talk to you later." I said back
"Ok bye."
I hung up and checked the time,it was 2:10 which meant I had only 10 minuets to make it to Trinity's school to pick her up. I walked out of my office and proceeded to my car. Once I got to my car I called my husband Nathan.
"Hey baby"
"Uh h-hey." I heard shuffling in the background.
"How's work?"
"Um it's fine. Ya know paperwork and what not."
"Oh yeah..well I just called to see how your day has been."
"It's fine. Uh listen I got to get back to work but I'll see you at home ok."
"Um ok..I lo-"
He had already hung up before I could finish.
"That was weird." I said before I pulled up to Trinity's school.
"Hi mommy" Trinity said as she got in the car.
"Hi princess how was school.
"Good I'm hungry tho...can we go to Taco Bell."
"Sure baby."
We pulled up to Taco Bell and the line was ridiculous.
"Oh my gosh, well I guess we're going in."
I parked and we got out of the car. We walked in and ordered, then I saw someone who looked familiar.
"Oh my gosh..Meek!"
