Jean and the others headed down for the Schoolyard, where they would meet up with the other Members. Eagan Club had its Clubrooms in an old Janitors Building on the other side of a Sports field that bordered the Eastern Side of the School Buildings. After they had crossed the field, they entered a flat, old building trough one of two doors on the front.
As they stepped in, they were greeted with a Cheerful "Konbanwa!" by many others who were already there. Mayako stepped up to the Front of what seemed to be an Old, abandoned Classroom and Formally Greeted the Team with the Words:
"Yamamoto High Eagan Club, We are now officially starting the First Club Meeting!"
She pulled a map out of a drawer and attached it to a Clipboard that stood in one corner of the Room. The Map showed a Detailed street plan of the Area around the School, with 6 Colored Zones of which the Yamamoto High was in the middle of the Center Zone.
"For those of you who are new, we are currently in the Green Zone." She pointed at the Map, "The Green Zone is the Area around our school that is of highest importance to us. On the North, our Zone is bordered by the Yellow Zone, Owned by the Ibaraki High. To the East, we are bordered by the Saga Senior High." She Pointed at a Blue zone right of the Yellow one, "to the South, we are bordered by the Tamagawa High. They have the Purple Zone and are newcomers to Eagan. And Finally, to the West, we have the Momogaoka High school for Artistically Talented Children which currently debates if they want to continue Eagan, they have the Orange Marking. Any questions?"
A Younger looking guy raised his hand.
"Yes?"
"What does the Black Zone Mean?" He pointed at a Black Marked Area.
"Black zones are the No Fire zones. This one is there Because of the Train Station. Its Officially forbidden to fight near Train stations because of the Higher risk of injury near tracks. Other Black Zones are around Government Buildings or other Important places with to many People."
Mayako answered a couple questions about this and that, then she moved on to the next topic. For that, she attached the next paper onto the Clipboard, with had "Schedule" written across it.
"Next up is the Training Schedule. We will train Twice a Week. The other days we will have excursions. Its necessary for you to be aware of the Fact that Eagan is a very Time Consuming Hobby. From Monday to Friday, you have to take at least two hours per day for Eagan."
Mayako looked around, searching for people who showed regrets for choosing the Club.
But other than a Distracted Mie who was spacing out, the Players looked dead serious. It almost seemed as if the liked to stay up all night doing homework's so that they could play Eagan during the day.
"From now on, you are Members of the Eagan Club. This means from now on you have to be on alert when traveling outside. The other schools, especially the Ibaraki High, have a tendency to attack our Area because of its strategic location near the Train station. You need to carry an Airsoft with you all the time and you need to be able to shoot it without hitting bystanders."
Mayako ended her Briefing with a bow, then she turned around and opened a large box that stood in the shadows behind the Clipboard pulling an M4 Style Rifle out.
"This is the Standard Issue Yamamoto High Airsoft. All of you will get one of these issued by the School, but I can only suggest you to buy your own gun. These break down easily and aren't the best for fighting."
She passed one gun after the other around until everyone who didn't have a gun before had one.
Jean, who sat between some other students on a couch, got a good view on them.
Lower Class AEG's, probably only around 70 Bucks each. Not even with Spare Magazines, instead they had a single high capacity magazine.
The Guys and Girls who got them looked with big eyes of impression at the Plastic Guns and proceeded with exploring them. Luckily they didn't have any BB's in them, because one or two pulled the triggers and dry fired a couple rounds until Mayako stopped with 3 Loud Hits on the Desk.
"These Weapons should not be handled without caution. You can easily shoot someone's eyes out at close distance, so watch out."
Her voice made the others get quiet again, then she proceeded with introducing the Guns.
Over the Next half hour, she went through Loading, disassembling, assembling, Cleaning and everything else concerning the Weapons. The students listened in silence, some made notes, others, who already knew how to do it looked out the window or talked quietly. Then the Practical Aspects came on the plan. For that, the Group went outside and behind the Building where a Small shooting range was build.
First, the Newcomers went up. One by one, they went up to the Range and shot at the Targets at 5, 10, 15, 20 and 30 Meters Distance. They didn't do so bad, but most didn't hit the 30 Meter at all. Then, the Older Members took turns, shooting the Targets with quiet routine and hitting Center on most occasions. Old and new changed turns for a couple times, while Jean just stood there and enjoyed the Show. It was really impressive how both groups hit their targets with increasing accuracy and in the end even the Newcomers scored some hits on the 30m Targets.
All the time, Jean didn't take any turns, and after the third round, Mayako Noticed.
"Jin-san, don't you want to shoot too?" She asked him with an allmost worried face.
"Yes sure, but I don't know when..."
Jean Laughed nervously. He didn't hear which group she had assigned him to, but he didn't want to disturb her training so he just watched from the side of the field and enjoyed it.
"Please, take part in the Next turn."
Mayako pointed at the Range, then she went back to helping newcomers and shooting for herself.
Jean lifted his bag onto a Table that stood close to him and started readying his gear. Loading Magazines, filling up Gas, checking attachments..."Jin-san! Your Turn!" He heard Mie call from behind him.
Jean walked over to the Range and Readied his Gun.
Given the Attention he got for getting in late, he wanted to give a good show, but it gave some pressure feeling the eyes of everyone resting on him.
Lining up the Sights, he breathed out and pulled the trigger.
The Gas propelled his BB into the Target, then into the next, and so on until he reached the 30m Target. Taking another breath, breathing out again and shooting a last time, he hit near the center. Not bad for a first try after some time, but still a bit disappointing. Jean smiled and put the safety back on, then he walked over to the waiters to make place for the next group of shooters. While waiting with the others, some started Smalltalk about this and that. Jean returned to the Range a couple times, then they called it a day and went back inside for the debriefing.
When they came back out, the sun was already setting, putting the Schoolyard into a magical, golden light. Despite the usual awkwardness of first time meetings, Jean had a great time. He had met new people and enjoyed a couple turns on a Range in the Middle of a School. Thinking back to Germany, this would never have happened there.
They Greeted each other goodbye, then everyone went their way back home.
Mayako, Mie, Jean and Bunta went in the same direction, accompanied by that Girl Called Mitsu.
When they stepped outside the Schoolyard, Mie suggested to stop by the Store they had visited the Day before and get something to drink. Nobody was really interested in directly heading home, so they went through the Narrow roads and intersections of the town until they got closer to the store.Meanwhile, in some distance, two Camouflaged Persons who had laid in the Bushes near the field had observed the Training trough a pair of military-grade Binoculars were reporting to their superior officer about Movement of a 5 Person Group towards the Towns Center...
