As I woke up, I felt the blistering wind peirce my bare chest. I get up looking around me as the snow covers the ground. The smell of the wet ground and the trees fill up the air as it blows. Thoughts flood my mind as I try to remeber what happened last night and why am I in the woods half naked.

"Maybe I was just wasted or something." I softly say to myself hoping it was right.

I walk towards the cabin that I live in next to the river that flows through the mountains miles away from my cabin. As i walk my head starts to hurt and wierd noises flood my head.

"Ahh" I grab my head as flash backs of last night are shown. Images of trees rushing past my eyes as I chase something in the woods. I quickly get to it and the figure looks like a man sitting down next to a small fire. Then all I see is blood and the man trying hard to get me away from him. Growls and snarls cover his screams.

I snap out of it and I look around me.

"Fuck it happened again. I thought that if I was here it would be safe."

I keep walking as the screams keep repeating in my head. I see the small cozy log cabin a couple of meters away and a soft smile appears on my face. I walk into the small cabin, the small bed in the corner with animal pelts cover the bed, the small fireplace next to the wooden table looks gloomy as the ashes of old logs lay there. Quickly i close the door and put dry logs into the firepit over the cold ashes of the old wood that lasted over that dreadful night.

The sound of wood snapping as the fire engulfs the logs. The warmth from the fire fills the cabin and my barechest as i get undressed. My sore legs lift up out of my jeans and I toss them on the floor. I walk in my boxers to the chest full of clothes and i grab a pair of camo pants and a shirt.

The hard wood floor squeaks under my feet as I walk to the small bathroom. I start the water for my shower hoping that will get my mind off things. The water hits the ground and the steam of the hot water fogs the window and mirror. I take my boxers off and step into the hot shower. The tingling sensation of the hot water and my cold skin crawls all over my body. The water flows down my chest and trickles down my abs slowly. I wash my body and I get out. The stream fills the air and i grab a towel.

The feeling of jeans that aren't soaked from the cold snow welcomes my dry legs and the dry shirt welcomes my chest as i put my shirt on. I sit on the bed and i look at the wall.

"Why did this have to happen to me? What did I do to deserve this curse? Why did that creature have to attack me that cold dark night?" I ask myself as i sit on the bed.

My stomach growls fiercely as the pain of hunger hits me. I walk to the small fridge with meat that is still cold in it. I open it and grab a small chunck of elk that i shot last week down the mountain that the small river flows through.

The smell of the cooking meat fills my cabin. The sizzle of the meat on the pan echoes through the room like the wind through the mountains. My mouth waters from the smell as it cooks. I set the small circular table with a plate, a knife, and a old fork.

The meat finishes and I put it on my plate, the steam from the steak flies up into the air like the smoke from the chimney. I quickly eat it as the pain of hunger controls my hands.

I put the plate away and I look at the fire as the wood turns to ashes. The beast inside me starts to get restless as it wonders why i am just sitting there watching the fire.

"Why sit there and watch the fire burn down the logs to nothing? We need to go out to get some fresh air" the beast says to me as the fire warms me up. I try to ignore it but the beasts words persuade me to go outside to get some air. I grab my jacket and my combat knife from the chest. The hinges on the door squeak as i open the door. The wind hits my face and quickly eliminates the warmth in my cabin. I shut the door as i walk out the doorway hoping that if im gone for awhile it will be warm again in the cabin.

The crunch of snow under my heavy footsteps up the mountain peirce my ears like the songs of the sirens. The beast inside me relaxes as I smell the cold air. The mountains slowly get closer as I walk closer. I walk with a short amount of peace towards the mountains. The peace was quickly brought to a hiatus as the sound of birds get closer. I walk through the trees and bushes in the dark cold woods towards the mountains.

The mountain that was close to me was very steep and hard to climb at some points. Luckily the mountain got easier and easier to climb after several years of experience from many climbing trips up to the top. I grab the rough rock in my cold hand and I slowly climb up it. I keep going and as i get to halfway up the wind roughly blows on my unprotected ears. The stinging of the wind on my cold ears made me quicken my pace to the top. As I get to the top the sun is already a third away from sunset. I smile as the view hypnotized me. I sat down on a rock sticking out from the side and i smile.

The sun slowly sets as I sit there watching the sun retreat behind the trees and mountains. The sweet, calm and shiny moon shows its face into the dark stary night. As I sit there and the aurora borealis flies throughout the sky like a colorful herd of deer running through the dark sky. The peace full night gets interrupted by a loud howl coming from the woods below.
