"Daemon wake up!!" I opened my eyes slowly and rotated to see Rina standing by the foot of my bed. She had a frighted look on her face. "We gotta get out of here." Slowly I got up and took a deep breath.
"What is it this time?" This wasn't the first occasion in which we were forced to run. Rina began pacing back and forth grabbing and stuffing anything useful into her bag.
"Bandits are attacking the town. We gotta leave now." She said continuing to pace back and forth.
"Bandits? Pass me my sword would you Rina." She came to a halt and gave me a stern look.
"Don't be stupid Daemon, you can't kill all of them on your own." I walked over to her and caressed her short hair. It was a beautiful bright pink, like an orchid.
"Why do you worry so? I'll be fine." She pushed me back and looked me in the eyes.
"I won't let you go out there." Why does she have to be so stubborn? I walked over to far side of the room and opened my bag. My blade lay hidden under some bandages and a small black journal. It was one a kind. Dragonbone long sword with twin dragons formed around the hilt. I placed it back in its sheath then put on my coat. Buttoning it up to my neck. Then I reached into my right pocket and pulled out a pair of black leather gloves. After putting them on I headed towards the door.
"Stop!" Rina rushed to the door and stretched her arms out.
"Move aside."
"No."
"The villagers will die"
"I don't care."
"Rina they took us in when no else did, we can't just abandon them." She knew I was right, but she stood her ground anyway. I lifted her up and carried her over my shoulder. She began kicking in an attempt to escape, with no luck. After placing her down on the bed i continued towards the door.
"Come back safe."
"I won't make any promises I can't keep."
I could hear her crying as I closed the door behind me, but it was quickly drowned out by bloodcurling screams. The roads were painted red with blood. Bodies littered the streets. Flames lit up the sky in the distance. I began shaking, but soon realized it hadn't been brought on by fear, I was excited. Not to far off from where I was a bandit was giving chase to a pair of women. I rushed to their defense and intercepted the bandit. He had a wide grin on his face. As if trying to mock me he dropped his axe and cracked his knuckles. The fool. I unleashed my sword from its sheath, after which the bandit seemingly changed his mind and made for his axe. Before he could grab it I lifted my blade and brought it down past his neck. As his head rolled to the ground and blood gushed out like a volcano where it used to be, I noticed the pair of women managed to escape. Not wasting any time I scoured around for my next target. A bandit nearby was trying to break into a house, I could hear screaming coming from inside. I dashed towards him blade in hand. He managed to detect me before I got too close and prepared himself. I swung my sword at him but he dodged and in turn swung his axe at me. Barely managing to evade his attack i took a few steps back. He was pretty good. Before I could do anything else he swung at me once more, and again I avoided having my head chopped off like the bandit I fought before. When I got up I realized his axe had gotten stuck on the wall of the house. Not letting this opportunity fly by I raised my sword and sliced his arm clean off. It was then he began screaming out in pain. After watching for a moment as he tried to stop the blood I gently lifted my sword and pierced right through his skull. Slowly I began removing it as I stared into his lifeless eyes. Who's next? I wondered.
"Well what do we have here?" I turned around to see the bandits had surrounded me. "A little hero, trying to save the day?" Damn where did they all come from. What appeared to be their leader stood tall and confident in the center. Bear pelt wrapped around his body, wearing a skull for a helmet, and carrying two curved elk wood axes in his hands. "Well? Too scared to talk boy?"
"..........."
"I suppose it doesn't matter what you have to say anyway, get him boys." 10 no 20, blast too many. They all came rushing towards me like a herd of rhinos. I began cutting through them 1 down, 2, 3, 5, 6. Its no use, there's just to many.
"Gaaaaaaah." I fell to the ground grasping my chest. That last hit did it, blood started dripping out of me like raindrops.
"Is that all? I expected more." Looking up I saw the chief laughing along with his minions. My vision hazy as I began to lose consciousness. "Oh are you hurt? Let me put you out of your misery." He brought up both his axes and with one swift movement slit my throat. I didn't even feel it. My body just fell onto the cold earth. The world around me began to get darker with each passing breath. Then nothing.
Daemon.
"Huh?"
Get up Daemon.
"No this can't be, you were nothing but a dream."
Hahahaha. Get up Daemon and you shall be reborn.
"Can't you see I'm dead? Wait what is this? I feel myself growing stronger."
Take what they took of you Daemon and all shall be right in the world.
"Boss he's getting up!" As I stood I could feel a surge of power coursing through my veins. My wounds began to heal and I became enveloped in a black light.
"This can't be, what are you?" Then like a gust of wind I blew each of them down. Blood dancing in the air. I saved the chief for last.
"Have mercy boy."
"I'm no boy." I was able to easily tear his head from his body. Raising it high in the air like a trophy for all to see.
Hahaha very good.
"Is this the extent of your power?"
No Daemon my power is infinite.
"Good to know." I headed back to the cabin and found Rina waiting by the door.
"I knew you'd come back."
"Rina it's time to leave this place."
"But where will we go?"
"Wherever fate takes us." I held her hand and together we looked onto the horizon. The sun was beginning to set.
