"What the heck?!" I said to Murphy. His skin was at least 50 shades of grey. He had absolutely no pigment and he really looked like a Z, "What did you do?!" I looked up at me, the just went back up stairs. I could hear everyone upstairs talking about Murphy. I looked down at the pile of dead skin and almost puked before running back up the stairs to greet he gang. "Cas and 10k still aren't back?" I asked. "Not yet. Why don't you and Dallas take the truck and ride down the road and see if you can find them," Warren suggested. "But what of we don't find them?" I said. "Just come back and we'll head out together," Doc replied. "Okay," I turned around and went down the short hallway to the room where Dallas was. I opened the door to see him sleeping. I snuck around to the bed and them jumped on him, "Wake up dude," I smiled. "What," he dragged the 'at'. "Warren wants us to go looking for 10k and Cas. They have been gone for awhile," I told him. "Alright, just give me a sec," I pushed me off of him and got up. He walked over to the small closet and took out black shirt. He took off his shirt and I didn't even realize I was staring at him. He turned around and smiled, "Earth to Aj," He laughed. "Wait, what?" I spit out and pretended like it never happened. He slipped the black shirt over his bare skin, and we left the room.
We walked out to the center room and Warren threw me the keys, "Be careful," she warned. "I always am," I said as I opened the front door before quickly closing it behind me. "Dallas," he turned around to face me, "You're driving," I threw him he keys and he started up the truck.
"So, starry eyes, what's up?" He joked. "Shut up," I said playfully, and we both smiled. I examined his face. He was so perfect. He had black hair that curled up in the front, blue eyes, a perfect smile, and a fricken amazing jaw line. Holy crap, he was a package. He looked over at me an noticed I was staring again. "Is there something on my face?" He laughed. "Perfection," I whispered. "What?" He asked. "Oh nothing," I stared out the front window and smiled. "Dallas, look," I pointed to our bike. It was outside of a small ware house, not any bigger than an actual house. "They must be here." Dallas pulled over and we crept into the house. From what I saw, there was a couple dead Z's, so they are definitely here. "10k!?" I slightly yelled louder than I meant to. We heard light sobbing coming from the other end of the house. Dallas and I quickly ran to the sound. "10k?" Dallas said. 10k was holding Cas. "Holy crap," he dropped our weapons and ran over to Cas. There was a clear bite on her left shoulder. "10k, we got to bring her back quick," Dallas rushed. "No," 10k sniffed, "its too late. We have go put her down before she turns Z." 10k set her down on the floor. I picked up my knife, "Cassandra I-" 10k pulled me back, " I should do this. He sniffed, and took out his gun, " Cassandra, I give you mercy." He shot the gun, and it was quick. A single tear rolled down his cheek, and I knew at someone point he was gonna cry. I felt like it too, but I didn't show it. Dallas picked up Cas' body and we brought her out to the truck. He put her body in the back. 10k got on the bike and sped off back to the small trailer. Dallas started up the truck and we headed back too.
We opened the door to find a room full of tears. Seeing everyone crying made me feel like crying too, but I held it in. "Warren, can we stay for the night?" She nodded and I went back to the room where Dallas was. "Hey, are you okay?" He asked as I walked into the room. "Yeah. It just sucks. I didn't really like her but she was still my friend. She made 10k happy and now she's gone, and now he is gonna be all-" Dallas cut me off. "Hey, its fine. Come here," he held his arms open and I ran over to him and squeezed him tight. Something about this just felt so right. I released my arms and looked up at him and smiled, "Thanks." He hugged me one more time, and this time he picked me up and spun me around, making me laugh, "What are you doing?" He spun me around to the bed and let go of me. We were both laughing. He jumped on the bed with me, and everything felt okay again. "Are you better?" He smiled at me, and I smiled back, "Yep." I leaned over and kissed him on the cheek, "Thank-" Dallas grabbed my face and kissed me, and I kissed him back. Woah.HEY FRIENDS,
