JANALY'S POV
I'm fuckin hungry but I wasn't gonna get into Paco's fridge cause it wasn't even my house.
"Are you keeping it?" Paula asked breaking the silence and looked straight at me "I don't....I don't know " I said struggling to answer "are you?" I asked "well of course, it'll be hard but I'm gonna give him or her my all" Paula said.
The gang suddenly walked inside "how'd it go" I asked concerned "we were too late, they got away and fucked up scars memorial" Paco said "FUCK" Smokey yelled and punched the wall, he looked pissed. "Mando calm down" I said "no why the FUCK would I do that, those bastards killed Scar then vandalized his memorial, he was a brother to me" Mando yelled "you're right ese they can't just get away with it we will teach those faggots not to mess with our barrio" Frosty said a all pissed off and shit.
1 WEEK LATER
JANALI'S POV
Today completes 4 months of my pregnancy and I have an appointment to the doctor to maybe find out the gender of my kid and I invited Paula aka Shy Girl, to come with me.
"Janali Flores" I looked up and saw my doctor at the door. I got up and walked over to her and Shy Girl followed.
The doctor put that weird cold jelly stuff on my stomach and looked around and found the head. "Do you know the sex yet?" I asked "let me see if I can figure it out" she said and looked the body parts that determine the gender "it looks like you're having a baby boy,Congratulations. You're ready to go home" she said and walked out the door.
After dinner the gang had a meeting and they actually let me go this time so I took a quick shower and put on a blue tshirt with "Cali" written on it and some jeans with my black Cortez and I straightened my hair and left it down.
After the meeting everyone was just talking,drinking, you know having a good time, creating memories and suddenly it got quiet "Janali, did you find out what the baby is gonna be?" Smokey asked "a boy" I answered "damn I'm gonna show him how to do shit" Smokey said, I just stayed quiet because I don't think I'm keeping the kid and it's kinda hard when everyone is making plans on teaching him this or that and I know I won't keep the kid. "Hey, what's wrong?" He asked "nothing, I'm just scared, you know?" I said "Vinny's dead and he wasn't going to be there for you, he denied being the father even after knowing what he did to you." Mando said "You're right but I don't know" I looked to the floor and stayed quiet, I wanted to cry so bad but I didn't want to cry in front of the gang "Nali" I heard Shy Girl call out, I looked straight at her "come here" she said walked towards the door and followed her.
I walked up to Shy Girl, she gave me a gigantic hug and felt the warm tears roll down my face but she wouldn't let go she hugged me so tight but didn't care. I started sobbing and I felt her hug tighter "stop crying homegirl it'll all be ok my little godson is gonna always protect you and love you" She said while hugging me "I don't know what to do Paula" I started calming down once I heard the door open and I looked up to see Mando and I wiped the tears off of my face as quick as possible "give us a minute Esa" Shy Girl walked away, Mando got closer to me "if his dad can't be here for him, I'll always be here." I just smile and hugged him "thanks Mando".
My smile faded when I saw car passing by almost as if I knew there was something wrong. The windows rolled down and they pointed the gun at smokey , I panicked I couldn't speak as much as I tried the words wouldn't come out. "SMOKEY RUN!" I managed to yell out. He pulled out his pistol and started shooting, he fell to his knees and the car drove away. The gang came out running "what the fuck happened?" Shy Girl asked as she ran over to me and Smokey, I held him close to my chest and asked him if he was ok "FUCK! It hurts" he yelled out "get him to the the car foo" Paco said to Daniel, they got him on his feet and and Smokey wrapped his arm around Daniel's neck as he lead him to the car.
SMOKEY'S POV Paco is driving, Daniel is sitting in the passenger seat and Janali sat next to me and held my hand, I put my head on her shoulder as I saw everything getting more and more blurry, my eyes started closing slowly "PACO HURRY THE FUCK UP HIS EYES ARE CLOSING!" I heard Janali yell to Paco and suddenly it got pitch black.
