Katie was always a very happy baby, probably because she was so spoiled! She didn't start walking until the age of 14 months. She was well over a year so we began to worry that she may be a bit slower, but as it turned out she was a very bright intuitive child.
Because Katie was so young it didn't really matter to her that our parents had gotten a divorce and we had moved half way across the state. I remember having a hard day at school and coming home to such a sweet energetic little girl that made my day ten times brighter. I also remember coming home to the same little girl, with the same amount of energy, but in a negative way. This is when I'd call her Mary Katherine. This was her real name which she despised, but it was a name that had such beautiful meaning to it. Mary was the name of my grandmothers mom and Katherine was the name of my grandfathers mom.Once when my dad and his friend were at a softball game of mine they watched katie playing by the fields and his friend had pointed out that Katie had in fact already had more intellect then her own son who was able to graduate high school and start college early because of his intelligence. There is no doubt that katie was very special here on earth.
