Chapter 13

Just a little filler to keep the plot moving along, and to thank you guys for staying with me through our own fic hiatus. 💕

"You can't seriously be thinking about going," I whined, disregarding the fact that I sounded like a pouty child, "What about us?"

"What about us, Harry? It's only for a few months. It's not a big deal," he sighed, shuffling his tshirt off and slipping under the sheets of his bed.

I trudged to the ensuite and grabbed the spare toothbrush that had been in regular use lately, brushing the minty paste around my mouth while speaking in slurred words, "What if you meet someone over there?"

"You're scared of me cheating?"

"No... But American men are very seductive, Lou. All tan skin and perfect teeth," I grumbled out, wincing when I brushed just as bit too hard before rinsing.

"I like your bunny teeth."

"That's literally the worst thing you could've said right now," I frowned, tying the unruly curls back away from my face in a low bun, "Other than telling me that you're going to be leaving for six months. Like, why can't I come with you? Do you not want me there?"

Louis rubbed at his eyes and pulled the silk blankets up to his chest, obviously annoyed by my whining and pestering since we've left his family home, "That's not it, and you know it isn't. You said yourself that you have to look after the shop, did you not?"

My fingers pulled on a pair of fluffy white socks while Louis kicked his socks off, then once I finished crawled into bed alongside him, I began to trace an index finger over his collarbones, "I won't get to wake up with you next to me," I jutted my bottom lip out for emphasis before rubbing my thigh up over his own, "I won't get to wake you up in the morning with something special that America can't give you."

He tossed his head back and threw a limp forearm over his eyes, puffing out a breath, "You drive me wild, Harry Styles," he grinned slyly, peeking up at him through his fingers, "What if I told you I'd fly back to visit at the end of each month?"

"So many things can happen in a month, Lou," I drawled out, opening my mouth to give him plenty of examples but he beat me to it.

"Fine! Two weeks! I'll fly back for a weekend every two weeks to spend with you," he hummed, drumming his fingers against my bare spine, "How's that sound?"

I smiled and leant up to kitten lick the tip of his nose with a laugh, blinking when a few stray curls fell in front of my eyes, "Sounds a hell of a lot better than six months."

"What happened to anything can happen in a month Lou," Louis quirked a brow with a questioning gaze before he pinched my side lightly, gasping in faux surprise, "Did you just blackmail me?"

I smiled as prettily as possible at him, fluttering my lashes in a way that could be considered obnoxious, "Maybe," I giggled, throwing my leg up around him to straddle his waist. Leaning down to his ear, I whispered in a hushed tone, "And I'm about to do it again."

"That's the last one," I murmured quietly, adjusting one of Louis' suitcases into the back of his vehicle before slamming the trunk shut.

He circled around to the back of the car and settled his hands on my waist, invading my space until I let the backs of my thighs press against the cold metal, "I won't be gone for long, baby."

"How do I know?" I whispered beneath a soft pout as I nuzzled my head beneath his chin, hunched over a bit to do so.

Louis wrapped his arms around my shoulders and pulled me into his warmth, sighing quietly against my ear, "Because I promise."

We both stayed embracing each other's body heat and sharing a few kisses between tear stained cheeks. Well, I was the only one crying, but from the way he slipped into the car afterwards and began to drive without looking back told me that he was saving his tears to be strong. Whether it was for my benefit or his, I had no idea.
