*Zayn’s POV*
I was sitting around the living room at Harry and Kariann’s house. All the boys were there: me, Louis, Liam, Harry, and Niall. Liam was here with his fiancé. Liam finally asked Danielle to marry him, something I kept pressing him to do for a while. Perry was sitting on my lap, holding a 6 month old mini-me named Quinton. My parents were really shock to hear I was having a baby out of wedlock, but they loved him either way. I was touching up his hair, making him his own quiff.
Harry and Kariann were sitting near each other, he holding three year old son in his lap and a pregnant Kariann scolding at their five year old daughter, Penny, who was running around the house. Liam watched as Louis had his two year old daughter, Taylor, on his knee, bouncing her up and down. Dakota was sitting next to him, holding their first baby boy, Matthew. Bonnie and Niall were on the floor, staring at their 11 month old boy.
Kariann had her five year old in front of her, silently scolding her as she slowly nodded her head at her mother. What we were: a family. Not separate five families, but one. We took the One Direction and made it to One Family. Haha, I seriously need to get my sense of humor back.
“Come on, Syd, say something. Da! Da!” Niall said, clapping his hands at his son.
The baby stared of at Niall with his blue eyes. He was sitting on his bum, clapping his hands as he stared at his daddy. “Aunt Kota… mommy being sour puss again…”
“I heard that young lady.” Kariann said toward her daughter.
The little girl covered her mouth. “Oopsies.”
“Cheeky like her father. Stubborn like her mother.” Harry grinned.
“Hopefully nothing more.” Kariann muttered.
“I don’t know, we still got Ryker.” Harry said, rocking the boy in his arms.
“We got two more coming, genius.” Kariann said, rolling her eyes.
Louis put the two year old on the ground and she started stumbling to the three year old on Harry’s lap. They started to hold hands with each other. Dakota passed Matthew to Louis, who took the kid into his arms and rocked the sleeping baby. It was crazy by just having a baby with the love of your life can bring the two of you closer and even change a person. The look on all of our faces when we look at our kids, the tenderness and love that was so open. It really was a beautiful thing.
“Food!” We all heard.
We all blinked, wondering who said that. “He… he didn’t say daddy…” Niall about cried.
“No.” I spoke up, laughing. “He’s definitely your kid.”
Niall about cried, but Bonnie bent down, kissing their son on the cheek. The baby laughed and smiled at his mother. “Wait, then what kind of accent was that?” Dakota asked, staring down at the kid.
Niall and Bonnie looked at each other, deciphering. “Irishtralian?” Bonnie asked.
“Seems legit to me.” Niall shrugged, grinning.
“Daddy!” Penny said, going up to her father. “Cans I have ice cream?”
“Sure-“
“No!” Kariann said. “You already had some an hour ago!”
“But I wants more!” Penny pouted, looking at her dad.
Harry transferred the pout to Kariann himself. “A little bit won’t hurt, love.”
“I said no.” Kariann said sternly.
“But… but…” Penny started to cry. “I want some!”
“Oh, baby, don’t cry. Daddy will get you some in a minute…”
Kariann slapped her forehead as Harry led his daughter into the kitchen with Ryder on his hip. Dakota came over, sitting beside their friend. They spoke for a bit before Perry started to get up from my lap. “Here, hold Quinton for me. I need to go to the loo.”
I took lil Quin from her, holding the boy in my arms. “How’s my little man?” I asked, smiling down at my beautiful son.
His slightly tanned hand reached up, touching the scruff on my face. I nibbled on his fingers and he smiles, laughing. “You know, I was just thinking…” Harry said as he followed a now happy Penny into the living room. “What if our boys got together to create their own band?”
“What would they call themselves?” Niall asked, grinning towards the rest of us.
“Mathew… and the potatoes.” Louis said, holding his son up in the air.
The girls rolled their eyes at him. “Second Generation?” Liam asked, watching as his daughter walked up to his leg, reaching her arms up for her father.
He picked her up, setting her on his lap. “Sounds pretty legit.” Niall said.
“Stop saying that, Niall.” Kariann said. “It’s getting really old, very quickly.”
Niall pouted at Bonnie. “Are you just going to let her talk to me like that?”
“She’s a pregnant woman, her moods are sure to swing.” Bonnie shrugged.
“Not to mention the hormones…” Louis coughed, clearing his throat as he looked up at Harry.
Kariann gaped and Dakota laughed. “I am not hormonal.” Kariann spat at Louis. “As for Harry…”
She lost her words. “What about me?” Harry asked, grinning down at her.
“It’s not my fault you’re one horny son of a bitch.”
“OH!” We all yelled, laughing. Kariann’s face lifted into a smile and Harry just shrugged, not even denying it.
Our laughter quickly died whenever Mathew started crying in Louis’s arms. “Oh, sh… I’m sorry I’m so loud…” Louis brought his voice down, patting the baby’s back. After a few minutes the baby quieted down. Dakota smiled over at Louis, seeing how hard at work he was in being a father.
I felt Quinton playing with my scruff again. I pulled my legs up on the couch, allowing him to stand on my stomach and hold him by his hands. Perry came back and got on her knees on the floor, smiling at our son.
I could see Liam not far from me holding his daughter in the air, making plane noises as he swung her around in the air. She was laughing and giggling.
With our family together, nothing could be more perfect. We all loved each other, and we knew our kids would grow up close and inseparable. With this family together, we had nothing to worry about. We wanted to see our kids grow up having just as much, if not more, fun that we all ever had together. If our boys got together in a band, maybe they’ll meet a group of girls by chance and fall in love. Our baby girls, if they could get through the hard case of Liam’s overprotectiveness and Harry’s flirtatious ways, they could fall in love also.
To think our lives were to be handed down to this next generation, I was excited on what was to happen. We would watch our kids grow up, falling in love to create their own families. We would be right there by their sides, teaching them right from wrong and making sure their hearts don’t get broken too much. I loved my family, I loved my friends, and so much more I especially loved. We were together and we would never break apart.
Just one big happy family.
“Uh… Harry… I think we need to leave.” Kariann spoke up, grabbing Dakota’s arm.
Dakota crouched to look at her face. Kariann was holding her stomach. “Why, what’s wrong?” Harry asked, coming over to his wife.
“My water just broke.”
And our lives just keep getting better from there.
Well, maybe not for Kariann at the moment.
I mean, I’m just a guy and I’m pretty sure going to labor with twins hurts. A lot.
