Lack of perfection

New love
Widowed and alone,
She walks
Trying not to break
But she's cracking
She closes her eyes
And lets the moment pass,
As always.

Widowed and alone
She cries and screams,
Passing hysteria
She feels so wrecked,
So alone

Widowed and alone
She tries heals her wounds
With no success
So she widens the cuts
And waits for them to heal,
But she's been waiting so long

Widowed and alone
She sits
Fighting for sanity,
Fighting against pain
But she's been fighting too long
She fights to keep the memories safe,
The memories of his arms around her
The safest of sanctuaries

Widowed and alone
She thinks
That maybe life isn't for everyone
But she must suffer as long as she can
Because he wanted her to find new love
So she didn't suffer forever
But this is the worst kind of suffering

Widowed and alone
she searches
For new love to keep her safe
But the light is gone from her eyes
The glow of her beauty dimmed

Ever so alone
He watches
The women who fights,
Fights the pain he does
He catches her eyes
And smiles,
Ever so slightly
Enough to draw her over

Both alone
One widowed
One broken
Both looking for new love
So they spend their days together
Piecing a new life together
With each other

Both mended and covered in scars
That used to cut so deep
But now her beauty shines through
And his smile could light up the darkest room
Hand in hand they walk
Remembering the day they met,
Was the day they started to heal

A real musician
Breaking through octaves
Shattering notes
Twisting melodies
In perfect harmony
She sings to herself
Completely unaware
Of the way they look at her
Her hands guide her through the song
Bunching and curling as the notes rise
Raw emotion on her face
She closes her eyes and gets louder
Still unaware
She manages the lyrics and melody at once
She needs no back up
Her fingers drum the beat on the desk
One, Two,
One, Two,
Her voice wavers in the right spots
It's obvious she knows the song well
The room falls silent
Captive by the beauty in her voice
But behind that beauty is pain
Still fresh, but so old
It adds to the perfection
Of a real musician
She draws out the last note
Bringing it up and dropping it at random
But even as she rises through octaves,
Her voice doesn't crack
She opens her eyes
And sees the widened eyes around
A blush,
As sweet as her voice breaks across her face
As the applause starts
And you can see she doesn't know
The perfection of a real musician

Insomnia
I much rather write
Than sit in silence
As sleep evades me
So I joy down whatever comes to mind
Should that be words
Letters
Music
I reflect on life
The uselessness of vanity
My lack of life
Dancing
Perfection
I think of you
The way your smile lights me up
Your calming voice
That can remain smooth as you sing
Speak
Cry
Yell
I cry in the dark
I'm without distraction
So the pain is raw
I can't sleep
Insomnia is down played
