Sunette's mind wandered as she walked, but was shamefully focused on Adam's voice, making her forget about the rain. In her fit of triumph and confidence, she had continued out into the heavy precipitation. The wind blew through her thin clothes, seeming to freeze every part of her that wasn't already frozen. She sped up once again, pulling her heels off of her feet. She ignored peoples stares as she ran, pushing through the crowd in a fit of giggles. Her mind was locked on finding more about that mysterious boy, but catching a cold wouldn't help her seemingly unsteady job.
She burst into the lobby of her apartment building, laughing at the face of her
neighbour. She was drenched, her blouse was wet, ruined and see through, she had ripped the seam of her skirt, making it a little past inappropriate, Sunette was a perfect mess. She pulled her shoes out of her bag and slipped them back on as she went towards the elevator, smiling at herself. She fumbled around her purse, searching for her key as she tapped her floor number into the key pad on the wall. The door opened immediately and she walked forward, still looking down. She collided with the stranger, throwing her hands forward in time to catch herself on their arm. She met their eyes and froze, as the unmistakably perfect voice rang through the tiny room, making it seem smaller than ever. "Hello." Adam stood before her, holding her steady as she regained her balance."Hi?" She took in his appearance. He no longer wore the loose messy clothes, but a pair of jeans and a tight fitting shirt. She cleared her throat and pushed her soaked hair out of her eyes. "What are you doing here?" Adam laughed and leaned against the opening of the elevator door. He stepped away, and smiled as the door shut.
"I might ask you the same thing."
