Eadmunds Point Of View

Auschwitz, the place I have been calling my 'home' for a year now. How I hate getting up everyday knowing I have to beat innocent people who should never have to go through this much pain. We are treating them worse than animals. If anyone finds out how I feel about this I will be killed. The living conditions here are absolutely terrible!

When I met Eva I instantly fell for her, I knew that I couldn't let her suffer as well. So, I decided to help her family. Every night I would bring them food and coffee to help keep them strong. Eva's poor younger sister looks so young and I fear for that one day when I go and see them at night, she will not be there anymore, as there is a minimum of what I can do to help. We aren't allowed to see them much at all anyway as the kapos are the ones who make sure they don't come out of their barracks. So it's very hard for me.

We have not been caught once and the other girls in barrack have sworn that they will tell no one. I give them food too, as I wish I could help everyone. I do not have a choice but to do this job. Before the war my parents were so poor that when they were asking for people to join the Nazi force, they told me I had to sign up. The other soldiers thought I had a gift and knew I would do well in this job, but never did they and will they know that I detest my job. If I would ever be found out then I would be expelled under the laws of the Third Reich or maybe even worse...
