It was a dark and stormy night. Rain lashed at the windows, the rough winds shook the house. Curtis was wandering aimlessly through the rooms, bored out of his mind. He wondered where his buddy, Erik, was at. Usually Erik could cure Curtis's boredom, which, to be fair, was quite often. The two had been off tour and hadn't been making any new music lately, so Curtis didn't know what to do the majority of the time.

"Ughhhh..." Curtis sighed, flopping on the couch. He stared at the ceiling for a few moments, before deciding to get up and search for Erik. He checked Erik's room- nope. The kitchen- nada. The bathroom, livingroom, attic, and even Curtis's room were a bust.

"Where is that little monster..." Curtis thought. A thought came to his mind. Could Erik be up on the roof? Sometimes he went up there to think, but Curtis had cast it out of his mind due to the storm outside. He shrugged and headed up to the attic, where there was a window they climbed out of to sit on the roof. When he got up there, he saw the window was already cracked open a bit.

"How did I not notice that before?" Curtis wondered. He opened it all the way and climbed out, the wind blowing through his already messy hair and excessive sideburns. He was instantly soaked by the constant downpour. Once he made it out, he regained his balance and looked around, looking for the familiar black and white striped sweater. Curtis didn't see anything at first, but then noticed a silhouette further down on the roof. How did Erik get all the way over there without slipping and falling down? Curtis crouched down low and inched his way over to his friend, finally reaching his destination and sitting down, legs dangling over the edge.

"Hey, Erik..." Curtis began, trailing off.

"... Hm? Oh hey, Curt," Erik mumbled, not looking over at his fellow band member.

Curtis looked at Erik strangely. "You alright there, buddy?"

Erik sighed gently, and cast a glance to his friend. "Yea... Why do you ask?"

"Well, as fond as I am of rain and storm, even I think it's a little strange you ditched me and have been sitting up here alone in the cold," Curtis said, reaching his hand over to grab Erik's. Erik jerked his hand away, though, intwining his own fingers in a ball on his lap.

"Oh..." he said quietly. "I just.. Needed to think."

"About...?" Curtis prompted. Erik sighed again.

"About... Well. Just some stuff that's been going through my mind," he sort of confessed. Curtis was confused, it sounded like Erik was trying to keep something from him.

"You know," he started. "If you need anything, you can always come to me."

"I know," Erik replied, finally turning to look at Curtis.

"Erik-" Curtis was cut off when Erik cupped his face and planted a gentle, but passionate kiss on Curtis's lips. He pulled away quickly, though, regaining his position from before, staring off into the night.

Curtis was dumbstruck, he really didn't know how to react. So, he did the only thing that made sense. He wrapped his arms around Erik's waist and brought him close, sealing their lips together again.

Erik's eyes widened in surprise, but they soon fluttered shut as he melted into the kiss, bringing a hand to cup and caress Curtis's face and sideburns. After a moment, they pulled away, both their breathing shallow.

"Well..." Erik said, blushing intensly.

"That was..." Curtis began.

"Nice."

"Scary."

They spoke at the same time, staring at each other. All of a sudden, Curtis broke into laughter.

"Scary? Really?" he asked, still laughing. Erik smiled shyly.

"Seemed truthful and a good word choice," he replied, still blushing.

"Hm... Scary indeed." Curtis smiled at Erik, kissing him again, short and brief. Erik took ahold of Curtis's hand, intertwining their fingers and leaning into his partner in crime. Together they sat there, not saying a word, just watching the rain continue on through the dark and stormy night.
