Author's note: Hi everyone! Part 2 of Trust is coming, I promise. I'm just struggling to find it. In the meantime though, I have a story written completely from Victor's point of view for you. I hope you enjoy it; let me know what you think :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"No!" My brother's girlfriend protests Addie's suggestion to find her a doctor. "I'll be fine."
She won't be fine, she's dying. Her pulse is already starting to slow down. I glance at Kayla and find her looking at me.
"You have to find Logan," she pleads, "That . . . thing . . . will kill him if you don't help."
Addie speaks up before I can. "Wade wouldn't—"
"That isn't Wade, Addie." I say firmly, "It's a machine. It's programmed to respond to Stryker's commands. It will kill him."
Grief and anger mix into her scent; both emotions send a wave of guilt through me. Not guilt over what I did of course, but that the result is hurting her. That was never part of the plan—none of this was. I force the regret away as Addie speaks. "Well then, we need to find my father."
I shake my head. "No, I need to find your father. You two need to get off this island."
"I'm not going anywhere." She's standing now.
"Addie, it's not safe for you to be here. Jimmy—"
"I'm not leaving," Addie argues, "My dad is responsible for all of this. You're crazy if you think I'm going to leave without helping."
I point at Kayla. "She needs medical care."
"There's a whole room of doctors right upstairs."
"Addie—"
"You're not going to convince her." A new voice says. I catch Gambit's scent just as I notice him standing behind Addie. She turns around and hugs him; I have to fight the possessive growl that rises in my chest as he hugs her back. Luckily for him, she pulls away. "When did you get here?"
"How do you think Logan got here?"
I step forward. "You brought my brother here?"
Gambit meets my glare. "Well yeah, I did. I thought he said he was going to kill you. Guess he changed his mind."
I extend my claws without a word and start to move towards him, but Addie stops me first. "Victor, be nice."
She turns back to Gambit and picks up on the change in his expression. Addie asks him about it, but I know the answer: it's the look of defeat. I can't help the smirk that tugs at my mouth. The man who has been a pain in my side since the day Addie met him has finally realized that she will never be his—good. He shakes his head in response to her question. "Nothing. How can I help?"
"You can get her out of here." I say. I may not like him, but at least he cares enough about Addie to be on my side in this argument. Gambit nods and tries to take her hand, but she pulls away from him. "No."
"Addie—"
"Gambit, you can get Kayla out of here. She's been shot. She needs a doctor."
He looks between us—clearly trying to decide who to obey. If he has half a brain, he'll grab Addie's hand and take her far away from here.
