so joshua started hitting cody
everyday
it became a tradition

a reflex
joshua beat cody to a pulp
he beat him bloody
joshua put cody in the hospital
joshua didn't regret it
he told himself that he shouldn't regret it
he told himself that cody deserved it
he reminded himself that he hated cody
but now
as joshua stares at himself in the mirror
with cherry tinted lips
and a sparkly pink dress
he realizes
that he doesn't hate cody
