**************************
Normally, Ollie wasn't the kind of person to go all out on drinks, but tonight, she made the mistake of making an exception. With the 10th something glass of sparkling champagne in hand, Ollie cautiously took a sweep of the room, again.
Only to find herself somewhat disappointed and relieved that Vitelli Cavelli was nowhere in sight.
She was feeling indecisive, part of her wanted the man who screamed sex, to bid on her and take her home and ravish her thoroughly, the other part of her; the sensible part which unlike the former wasn't lying dormant wanted nothing to do with him. He seemed like trouble and she wanted nothing to do with trouble.
Somehow, as she regarded every male present in the room, none of them seemed like they'd be interesting partners to start a conversation much less spend a day with: the prize offered at the auction for the women they won.
Deborah was devious when she had arranged their attires, everyone's dresses were tailor made to emphasize their curves and bring out the unique features everyone has.
In all honesty, Ollie had no problem with the auction, she had full faith in both Luca and Dimitri that if they suspect the intention of any of the attendees that might be bidding on her, they'd make sure Ollie was well protected, they were after all, her self-proclaimed brothers.
Ollie placed the now empty glass of champagne on the tray of a passing my waiter, internally willing herself not to give into the temptation and grab another off the trays.
"They look bloody tempting though," it was a stray thought that fitted through her head. Turning back towards the stage, Ollie squared her shoulders and made her way from the isolated corner of the room where she had previously placed herself to mingle, again.
After all, it was only a few more minutes to go until the auction started and Deborah throws her to the wolves.
**********************************
The moment the beautifully structured woman had graced the hall, his eyes had been fixated on her. Which, considering his reputation and who he was, had been a first: one of the many Vitelli was anticipating to receive tonight.
In all honesty, the woman was not an eye shocker as the modals he spent his nights with, when compared to them, dare he say it, she was plain. Yet had an allure to her that he hadn't seen in a woman other than his mother.
Olivia Clarkson. He made a mental note to look her up later into the night. Now, he would engage himself in socializing, until the auction started. He already had someone he planned to win.
Out of the corner of his eye, Vitelli observed the woman, Olivia as Luca Kolosov had mentioned her name was, seemed somewhat nervous. It was evident to him from the subtle way she ran her index finger over her thumb and how she scanned the crowd apprehensively.
If it weren't for the skills Vitelli had gotten from the countless business meetings he attended on a daily basis, he doubted he would have been able to read her: if she was nervous, her body posture was the perfect facade for confidence and calmness.
What an intriguing woman... The thought had fitted through his mind before he could comprehend it and once again, Vitelli found himself surprised.
Olivia looked simply delectable in the figure hugging dress she adorned, no doubt the handy work of Deborah, Vitelli had seen just how devious she could be first hand. The same went for all the women who were to be auctioned, they all were dressed to entice but no one had lured him as much as the woman he was eyeing discreetly from the covers of the shadows.
Tonight, he would bid, no doubt it would be surprising as it was something he avoided whenever the prize was something such as tonight, but he was tempted and Vitelli wasn't the one to ignore temptation without having a taste first.
***********************************
Prior to the announcement that the auction was about to begin, Ollie and the rest of the girls had been ushered back stage by Deborah's faithful assistant who was chad in a champagne colored cocktail dress.
The ladies there were constantly buzzing with excitement, they went about naming a few handsome and rich men who were in attendance and gushed about being lucky enough to get to spend a night with them.
For Ollie, the concept worked backwards, she much rather avoid it all together and go home, she still had an important e-mail to look out for and a long overdue date with her couch and her TV back in her flat.
Ollie gave herself a last once over in the floor length mirror placed back stage and decided that she looked good enough and proceeded to make her way on to the stage when Deborah called out her name.
"Ollie as she preferred to be called as, is a pediatrician in our own clinic, she loves books and movies as much as she loves kids. Her hobbies include surfing, skiing and window browsing. She also enjoys spending her time fighting for the rights of orphaned children." Deborah was saying and Ollie smiled at the crowd, her natural talent to charm already in full gear, despite her nerves.
"Since she is a beauty as you can see and bilingual, we'll start with a high price," Deborah grinned, Ollie had an American dad and a Russian mum, thus ended up learning both languages.
"So, gentlemen, you may place your bids, starting from $10,000." Deborah's voice rang out. Ollie smirked inwardly, she really was planning to milk their pockets dry! And she didn't expect any less from her.
"$20,000!" Ollie turned towards Luca who grinned and raised his glass of champagne in mock salute, he had his arms around Dimitri.
"$30,000!" Someone from the back shouted, immediately it was countered.
"$35,000!"
The whole thing went on and on and Ollie found herself lightly pale from how high the amount had gone, and Deborah seemed very pleased.
Luca countered to someone in the back who raised his hands in the universal gesture of peace. Just when she thought it was over, a new voice rang out, immediately sending her lady parts into turmoil.
If Ollie had been in her right mind, she would had gasped over the sum he'd put forward, but the moment Vitelli's voice reached her, she had snapped towards him and their eyes locked, Ollie was a goner.
Ollie caught Vitelli's smirk, which did not help her raging libido. When did he get here?! She thought, so immersed in her own thoughts, she completely missed Deborah sealing her fate with gusto.
"And the charming Ms. Clarkson is Vitelli Cavelli's prize for the night!" The words she uttered would kick-start a series of events that would change both Vitelli and Ollie's lives, for the better or worse.
He had her, right where he wanted.
