I woke on a bus, holding hands with a blond haired boy. I wouldn't have minded, except I had never seen him before in my life. I sat up, glancing around. The boy looked at me and smiled, squeezing my hand gently. "Hey, Pipes. We're almost there." His smile faded as I stared. "What's wrong? Are you alright?"
"Where- where am I?"
"We're maybe five minutes from the museum."
"Museum....?"
He frowned at me and the boy sitting in front of me turned, leaning over the seat. "Yeah," he grinned. "The National Museum of... Wait. Where are we going?"
The blonde boy shrugged. "I wasn't listening when they told us."
"No, I understand, Jason. You were probably... Otherwise occupied..." He grinned at me. Jason shoved him jokingly, but the other boy lost his balance and fell, landing, butt in the air, on the floor.
"Sorry, Leo!" Jason chirped, moving to help his friend up. As Leo sat back down, he turned to the other kids on the bus, who were staring at him, and declared, "Gravity works. You're welcome."
"Settle down back there, cupcakes!" A man yelled. I looked up and saw someone I could only assume to be a coach, maybe a gym teacher.
He locked onto me and his eyes narrowed. He stared at me for an uncomfortably long time, before yelling, "We're almost there, delinquents! Try not to destroy and property or die while there, because I hate paperwork. You all have a worksheet. Partner up and at least look like you're trying, alright? Have fun!" He glared at me before sitting down.
Jason and Leo looked at me. "He's mad at you. What'd you do?"
"I- I don't-"
The bus whined to a stop and everyone started getting up. "Who are you?"
Jason looked back and chuckled, then stopped. "You're serious. Really, Pipes? We've been dating for four months. Are you alright?"
"Why do you keep calling me that?"
He exchanged glances with Leo, eyebrows knitted together. "Something's wrong. We gotta talk to Coach Hedge."
"No!" I stopped them. "Just.... Just give me a minute. I'm just not feeling well," I lied.
"...A- alright. If you say so. Come on."
They led me to the front of the bus and I stared out into the desert that surrounded us. Where am I?
