I tugged my coral dress down while looking in the mirror.. It wasn't as tight as he probably wanted it to be, but it's not like i care. He's just lucky i'm going. You know, I really didn't want to go through with this, but it was for the best.. I sighed and opened my bedroom door.

My black pumps were sitting at the doorway when i hopped downstairs. I kissed my dad's cheek and slipped them on. They made me almost 8 inches taller than i already was!

I called Harry to tell him that i was leaving now.. He told me before he left yesterday to check in with him from time to time throughout this "date". I think he was more nervous than i was!

He answered on the third ring. "Hey babe"

"Hey, i'm on my way now!" I sarcastically sang. I tapped my foot on the brakes as i rolled up to a stop sign.

"Please, just promise me you'll be safe.."

"Aren't i always" i muttered.

"What are you doing?"

"Watching T.V. now.. But the boys should be heading over here soon, i told them what's going on and they thought that maybe a little party could get my mind off of things.." His tone was hopeful.

"Well that's fun.. so they actually know who i am and everything about us?" I whispered the last part. This can't be real!! Just a couple of days ago i was a just a huge fan and now i'm.. now i'm one of the girlfriends.. My mind was tied in a knot.

My life probably won't ever be normal again. Once Harry and i go public my usual (& utterly boring) life will disappear.. I straighten my eyebrows and wiped the complex situation from my mind. It couldn't be dealt with right now.

"Lainy, are you still there?"

"Yeah-yeah sorry i zoned out. My bad.." I bit my lip as i found a space.

"Hey, I'm here.. I'll text you when i get the chance!"

"Alright.. If he starts getting weird or offensive, just excuse yourself or call me and i'll take care of it." He spoke with a sense of harshness in his tone.

"I know, i will! Have fun with the boys"

He laughed. "I'll do my best! Byeee"

I whispered a goodbye and let my heels plant themselves on the pavement. My small bag managed to hold my phone, lip balm, pepper spray, a tampon and my keys! I was pleasantly surprised.. This thing wasn't any bigger than a hardback book.

The air was wet and smelled of rain from the showers yesterday.

The hostess furrowed her eyebrows for a split second but then smiled at me as i entered the restaurant.

"Um, hi i'm supposed to be meeting a man called James Marline." My statement accidentally came out as a question.

She hummed as she read over the list of reservations.

"Ah! Right this way please."

My 'thank you' came out as a squeak. I shot my hand to my mouth in embarrassment..

We found the table where James was sat at. His eyes studied my body as i slid into the seat across from him.

"Hmm. So you actually did show up.. Knowing your snide ways, i figured you wouldn't."

I sighed and placed my napkin on my lap. "I didn't want to come, but i just didn't have the heart to stand you up."

My wine glass found my lips as i rolled my eyes. "What do you want"

"I want you.." He slid his seat over to the side of the table so he could be closer to me. The smell of alcohol was radiating off of him. "I miss what we had baby.. We had everything. We used to talk and laugh and do fun things.. I remember staying out late after Tommy's party that one night and we danced in the streets.. Do you remember that baby?" He took my hand in his and stared at me with wet eyes.
