Roommates & Muffins

I opened the door, revealing everything that was behind it.

There was a girl unpacking her bags by one of the beds that were close to the window. She turned around once she noticed she wasn’t alone in the room.

“You must be my new roommate,” she smiled, “hi, my names Luna.”

I took some time to study her. She was dark-skinned, but fairly light. The freckles on her nose stood out most on her face. Her brown eyes the same color as her hair, which reached just above her rib cage. She was a couple inches taller than me, dressed in scrubs- orange baggy sweatpants from Pink and a white tank top.

“My names Brooklyn,” I smiled at her, reaching to shake her hand.

I turned away from to look around at the room.

There were 3 single beds in the room; two particularly had a window view. Luna had the one next to the single bed without the view. There was one closet and two dressers along with a night stand for each bed. The view from the window was basically the center of campus. The walls were a teal color, matching the beige carpet.

I walked over to the next bed that was closest to the window, which was the only bed on the right side of the wall. The room wasn’t big, but I guess it wasn’t that small either.

“Are we allowed to decorate the room?” I asked Luna. She was back to folding and putting away her clothes in the dresser. She looked over at me, “I actually wanted to go get a couple things for the room myself. You can come with me if you want?”

I nodded my head at her.

We stayed quiet for little bit, putting our clothes away. I tried to think of anything to start a conversation with her but she beat me to it.

“So, meet any guys yet?” She raised an eyebrow at me, half smiling.

I chuckled, “I met Hunter, if he even counts as a guy.”

“Shut up, you met Hunter Mitchell?”

“Yeah, he kind of showed me around today.”

“Do you even understand what I would do to that guy? He’s gorgeous.”

I giggled, “He’s baby cute.”

She stared at me with disbelief written on her face. I laughed at her. “I repeat, do you KNOW what I would do to that guy?”

We heard the door close as an unfamiliar voice began to speak, “Do I even want to know who you’re obsessing over this time?”

I looked at the girl who walked in.

She was holding two suitcases while she dropped the bags to the floor. While my hair was a type of light brown reaching to my hips, hers was blonde that fell a little more than halfway down her stomach. Her eyes are blue-gray, mine are hazel. I’m tan, she’s pale. She looks about an inch taller than my 5’4 figure.

We’re literally opposites.

The only thing we had in common was our pants; sweatpants from Victoria’s Secret.

She walked over to the last bed and placed her bags on top.

“Ariel,” Luna stretched out the ‘L’, “Brooklyn met Hunter,” She pouted at that.  Ariel looked over at me, she smiled and waved at me and so I smiled in return.

“Luna has a bit of an obsession of that boy,” She rolled her eyes at the girl. I suppressed a laugh when I saw that Luna furrowed her eyebrows and widen her pout.  Luna looked back to me, “It’s just a small crush,” She scowled at Ariel.
