"This song goes out to all of our fans that have lost someone important in their life." Billie says as he starts playing the chords to Wake Me Up When September Ends.

Summer has come and passed. The innocent can never last

Wake Me Up When September Ends.

Billie sings as the crowd sings the lyrics back to him. Billie seems so passionate when singing this song. Personally, its one of my favorites to play onstage. I stand up on one of the risers and shout the next line to the crowd.

Like my fathers come to pass, seven years has gone so fast.

Wake Me Up When September Ends.

I stepped off of the riser and started to pluck the strings on my bass to the rhythm of the song. I looked up momentarily at Billie to see he had tears running down his cheeks. His voice cracked in his mic a little and he just stopped playing and singing all together.

"I can't do this guys.. Im sorry." He said and started to break down in the middle of the stage. I hurried over to him and hugged him tightly, Tré copying my actions. Tré and I muttered words of encouragement in his ears until he stopped crying. When he wiped his face of any stray tears, he got right back up into singing the song. The fans cheered as Billie sang the rest of the song.

"I fucking love you guys." Billie says to the crowd after we finish the song. I held up a heart that I made with my hands to show that I loved them too, I also blew kisses at the crowd. "I just want to say that doing these shows for you guys, I love doing them. I love going from country to country, from state to state just to see you guys. To see you sing your guys's hearts out with me, To cry with me, because when I broke down a few minutes ago, I saw some tears out there as well. And most importantly, To see you guys grow. we've been doing shows now for 25 years (Im pretty sure I said 25.. If I didn't, its 25 now) and we come here every year. And every year this venue keeps getting bigger and bigger. And by the time we are playing our last show, I want this fucking place to be filled up to the roof with people." Billie preached, the crowd cheered and Billie signaled for me to start Longview and so I plucked the strings on my Bass and bobbed my head along with the beat.

AN.

It's not as long as Id like it to be.. But its whatever.

Sorry.
