I woke up to the smell of sizzling bacon and eggs. She was cooking? I slowly sat up and stretched. I stood up and walked downstairs to find her in the kitchen setting up the table.
"Morning, Red! Sleep well?" She asked when she saw me, smiling. I smiled back and shrugged.
"Yeah, thanks. What's all this?" I asked, motioning to the table and food she was putting out.
"Oh this? It's nothing really. I just thought it'd be nice to have a proper meal with company here." She explained. I smiled and looked around at the array of food before me.
"You really didn't have to. I'd be fine with just a simple bowl of cereal." I told her.
"We didn't have any cereal. " She shrugged.
"You know what I mean." I said.
"Oh, shut up and eat the food." She said jokingly but I know she sincerely wanted me to eat it. And so I did, until I was full.
"What did you dream about last night?" I asked her when she finished eating. She shrugged.
"Can't remember. You?" She asked. I thought about it, then I remembered.
"I dreamed of a place I could go whenever I felt out of place where I was. This place wasn't special from what I recall, quite plain actually. But I loved it. And I wish it was real." I told her. She nodded.
"Well if it means anything to you you're always welcome here, Red." She smiled.
"Thanks." I said, and stared at my somewhat empty plate.
"I'm taking back the crown. I'm all dressed up and naked." She said randomly, making me look up at her in question. She motioned for me to speak, as in continuing the words, but I shook my head and shrugged.
"Oh come on! You don't know that song?" She asked.
"Nope." I answered. She gasped in mock horror.
"But how?" She asked.
"I don't know, dude." I said.
"I see what's mine and take it." She said.
"What?" I asked, but before she answered she picked me up out of the chair and carried me to her couch and dropped me, sitting down next to me and hugging me.
"What was that for?" I asked, awkwardly hugging her back.
"Didn't you hear me? I see what's mine, and I take it. I saw you and I took you. Easy." She said like it was nothing.
"I'm yours?" I asked, smirking at her. She nodded.
"All mine." She said, then kissed my nose.
