A/N: Sorry for the super long wait, but A LOT has been happening in my life. My parents' relationship ALMOST fell apart, my aunt died, my uncle died, my cousin die, my other uncle got married, school started. I'm sorry. I just haven't had time for writing lately.
Jay's P.O.V.
"Throw the ball!"
I looked around for an open teammate and saw that Nick was the only one open. I passed the ball to him and he took off towards the end zone. He scored and the marching band started to play just a the final buzzer of the game went off.
The team surrounded me and threw their arms around each other. I looked up at the scoreboard and saw that we had won by fifteen points. I looked over at coach and he was beaming with joy. I ripped my helmet off and threw it in the air.
I had forgotten how it felt after you've won a game. Incredible.
The team looked happy and the marching band was jamming out to some victory song. The cheerleaders were doing some dance to the song and looked pretty happy.
The coach ran over to us and shouted, "You guys did awesome tonight! Keep it up. Grab a drink and get on the bus."
I ran over to the concession stand and grabbed a bottle of water and downed it. I made my way over to the bus, but stopped when I heard shouting.
"I done! I'm done with you and all of the shit you've put me through!"
"You're overreacting! I missed one date! One fucking date and you decide to break up with me?!" I heard the manly voice of Nick say.
"It'a not about the date! I saw you with Lauren yesterday! Since I'm obviously not good enough for you, get together with her!"
The girl I had seen yesterday, Kat, came running out from behind the bus sobbing. She ran right into me and clung into my jersey.
I stood there, rigid. Not sure what I should do. She continued to sob onto my chest and I gently patted her back. A girl wearing a cheerleading uniform with her brown hair up in a ponytail came running up to me. She had a frantic look on her face. "What did you do to her?"
"Nothing! She just ran into me!" I assured her.
The girl pried Kat off of me and Kat clung to her instead. I gave the sobbing girl one last uneasy look before boarding the bus. I sat next to a guy from my wood shop class and the rest of the team boarded. We left after five minutes of waiting for the stragglers.
I leaned my head back and closed me eyes.
I was being prodded in my arm, very hardly. I jerked awake and dragged my hand down my face.
I got up and made my way off of the bus. Andrew was supposed to be meeting me in the parking lot, having taken the bus that transported students that wanted to attend the game.
I saw him leaning against my car with another figure. The closer I went to them, the easier time I had identifying the figure. Lissa.
I approached them and Andrew said, "Do you mind if Lissa rides with us? She just needs to be dropped off."
I nodded and gestured for them to get in the car. I got in the drivers seat, Andy got in the passenger seat and Lissa got in the very small back.
I could feel my eyes closing as I turned the car on. "Lissa, can you drive?" I mumbled.
"Yeah," she said, "I got my license a month ago."
I opened my door and said, "Good, cause I'm gonna fall asleep."
