The betrayal

Percy POV
For the past 3 months I have been on a quest for athena's approval to marry her daughter and my eternal love Annabeth chase. I had to complete the 12 labors of hercules and end with defeating Ladon and grab an apple from the garden of the hesperides. No matter what I was gonna propose and I wasn't going to let some huge dragon with too many heads and a few labors of a hero stop me.

When I finally got to camp the first thing I did was pray to Hepheastus(spelling is hard) to teleport me to his forge so I could make a ring for Annabeth. He instantly teleported me and I saw him standing by the forge as if he already knew I was coming. We immediately began working and by we I mean him doing all the heating and carving while I did the melting and pouring. I had decided to make the ring out of some things I had gotten along my quest. The outer layer was made of my old buddy beefheads horn, the second was imperial gold and the third made of Chaos metal; the strongest metal in the universe, when I showed it to Hepheastus he started hyperventilating and ended up fainting. I understood why he fainted after all he works with metal all the time and has probably never seen Chaos metal. I wanted to engrave the words 'wise girl and seaweed brain' into the ring but I didn't trust myself with that so I asked Hepheastus if he could do it and if he could enchant so that when Annabeth would twist it to the left it would turn into a sword. If she twisted right she would get two daggers. If she took the ring off and said 'wise girl and seaweed brain' it would turn into a bow. I decided to name the ring'Chasing wisdom' to hint her last name and her lineage to Athena. I have to say when I saw the finished products I was quite amused with our skills. With a final goodbye and thank you I left the forge to find Athena

After I found Athena, who just so happened to be asking Aphrodite a question when I walked in and they both turned to me. " Lady Athena, Lady Aphrodite nice to see both of you. I was hoping you could approve of the ring I made for Annabeth." I bowed in greeting " Of course Percy anything for you." Aphrodite said and I could swear she said it seductively but I shrugged it off as nothing. When I opened the grey velvet box they both gasped like I knew they would. Aphrodite was the first to snap out of her trance and said " Annabeth sure is going to be surprised when you propose with that" Athena quickly nodded in agreement. Me being me I said " Can you please teleport me back to camp.". Aphrodite immediately grabbed my hand and flashed us backed to camp and left after wishing me good luck.

I went over to Thalia's tree and gave Peleus a quick pat in the head and walked through the border. As soon as I did I heard a girly scream and saw someone who looked sort of like me but skinnier and weaker with short black hair and dull green eyes, being chased by a hydra, a couple of hellhounds, and none other than old beefhead. I quickly ran up the hill and uncapped Riptide. I quickly told the kid " Run past the tree and you'll be safe" but of course he didn't, obviously paralyzed from fear. I sighed and quickly chopped the monsters to nothing but gold dust on the grass. As soon as campers started walking up the hill the kid took Riptide from me and shoved me to the ground. " Look I just defeated five hydra's, 100 hellhounds, and the minotaur single handed while this kid just hod behind a tree" all the younger campers looked at me some laughing, others looking at me with distaste but I saw the older campers who knew me looking at me with disgust in their eyes even the seven were looking at me like I was a monster, even Annabeth. Chiron approached and helped me up and asked me "Is he lying abut the monsters and what you did?" so in response I said " I swear he is in the river Styx." as I finished thunder boomed sealing the deal. "Well seeing as how your soul hasn't been claimed yet I see you are telling the truth. I will announce this" Chiron said but before he could announce anything I said "Let the kid have his glory I'll be fine." Chiron walked up to the kid and asked what his name was and he responded by saying his name was Jake Rivers. After he said his name my dad flashed in and claimed him by saying " This is my son Jake and he is 14 years old, all of you bow to him now." immediately everyone got on one knee except me and Chiron who it was physically impossible to kneel " Hey dad why didn't you claim when he was 13 like you and the other gods promised" he immediately turned to me with venom in his eyes and hissed " Shut it and its Poseidon to you" I looked at him with hurt evident in my eyes but before I could say anything Jake turned to me and said " Why are you not bowing coward" " Because I don't want to" He stalked up to me as if he was going to hurt me. He reached for Riptide but didn't realize it was long gone and in my pocket. He started looking around and I took this as my chance to go back to my cabin and practice proposing to Annabeth.

When I was in the middle of practicing my proposal and thinking of how to make it perfect, Jake barged in and asked what I was doing in his cabin. I replied by saying I was his brother so we shared the same cabin. " I have no brother dad always said I was his only kid every time he visited me once a month" " He broke the ancient laws and how did he not tell you about me I'm like 4 years older than you"(Percy is 18) he must really like Jake to break the ancient laws for him.

He asked me what I did to be so recognized by the camp, apparently in the 30 minutes he was here he already did some research about me. " Well I am the savior of Olympus twice over, defeater of Kronos, bane of Gaea, and a whole bunch of other titles." I said. He looked at me with awe then an evil grin. With that he got up and walked out of the cabin mumbling something I couldn't understand. I thought it was nothing but boy was I wrong. The next few weeks at camp were hell, just because I told him of my titles.
