~Kaitlyn's POV~

"your food will be out soon," I told the young couple. I placed the order in the kitchen, grabbing a bowl of spaghetti. I made my way over to table eight.

"here you go, sir. Is there anything else I can get you?" I asked.

"no, thank you," the old man replied.

"okay, enjoy your meal," I smiled and walked toward the register, where Katherine was stationed. Kathy and I hd become pretty good friends. She had the longest blonde hair, and I loved to play with it. She was slightly taller than me and always made fun of me for it. She turned to look at me, as I was trying to sneak up on her.

"are you trying to kill me?" she smirked, her brown eyes sparkling. She had crazy freckles.

"maybe..." I grinned back.

"hey, can you go get Cara, she's supposed to be here by now," she gave me puppy eyes. I rolled my eyes.

"fine," I turned, and headed to the back room. Cara was another employee, but I didn't know her as well. I didn't know about six of the other employees, Cara, Max, Isaac, Matt, Lily, and Ellie. I only knew Kathy, Ethan, and Jane really well. Jane went to the same middle school and high school as I did, and we became fast friends again because if it.

I found Cara asleep on the couch. Her red dyed hair strewn out around her. Her long arms hanging off the couch, just missing the floor.

"Cara," I said, she didn't move, "ugh, Cara wake up!" I shook her slightly. That woke her.

"wha- what?" she looked completely confused.

"Cara, it's your shift at the register," I told her.

"sh*t!" she jumped up and ran her fingers through her hair, "do I look terrible?" she turned towards me.

"you look lovely, don't worry," I smiled.

"thanks!" she called over her shoulder as she ran out. I heard snickering from the far corner. My head snapped in that direction. I saw Isaac and Lily.

"guys, don't be mean," I rolled me eyes. Isaac was okay, but I absolutely despised Lily. She could be a total b*tch, but our customers loved her because she's so nice to them. They were best friends, so Lily never bothered Isaac, or anyone when he was around. It was so annoying.

"sorry," Isaac said genuinely, and Lily agreed, but as Isaac looked toward me, she gave me a dirty look and the finger. I rolled my eyes and walked out.

A/N: sorry that it's so short and that I didn't update for a long time. I've been kind of caught up in other things, such as writing original songs.

Comment what you think. :)
