I've got them all fooled.

The name is Jane. Jane Witherbell. But who doesn't know that? My family is the richest in town! Everybody loves me, but I've got news. I'm not the perfect Jane they think I am, I'm more corrupt then any of them could ever be.

This masquerade all started when I was 8. 8 1/2 years ago to be exact.

I looked at the man in front of me. He wore a plain blue sweater vest over a black, button-up dress shirt with black dress pants and shoes. He leaned forward in his chair slightly.

"Jane, your father has mentioned that you've been skipping meals and you've been angry quite often lately. Would you like to tell me what's wrong?"  He began to tap his pen against the notepad he was holding in his hand as he spoke the last sentence.

"No." I replied. What made this man think I would tell him all my personal secrets? Was it because of the promise of 'confidentiality'? I was quite smart for an 8 year old. I knew that my father would bribe him with huge amounts of money to break his rule of confidentiality and tell him why his little kitten was acting so strange. In this world money is everything.

"Jane, dear, I'm here to help you. Talking about what's bothering you will help a little. It would also help me understand things better." He pleaded.

The way he spoke made me want to trust him and tell him everything, but I knew better than that! How could he know anything about witnessing the death of your very own mother. I stood there and watched a random stranger stab her with a knife. I saw the pain in her eyes and the pride in his.

Did he think killing people was something to be proud of?! That cruel man! After seeing that man's expression, I swore to myself that I'd find a way to avenge my mother's death. Until then I couldn't trust or love anyone until I was sure that the world was free of cruel people like that man.

I was woken up from my daydream by the Doctor's voice. "Jane! Are you alright?" I looked up at him as if he'd sprouted another head. I was fine, what was he talking about?

"What do you mean? I'm perfectly fine." I replied. He nodded in understanding.

"I just got a little worried there. You were clenching your fist really tightly and it looked like it must've hurt." I ignored his comment and he spoke a minute later.

"Well, our time is just about up. I'll see you next week. Maybe you could write in a journal until then?" I nodded and left as quickly as I could. As if I'd write a journal. I've got better things to do. I was going to figure out how to avenge my mother's death.

I went back to that man 2 more times. Father found out that I wouldn't talk to the Doctor and had me go to another Physciatrist. Of course, this time it was no different. We tried 4 more physciatrists after that but neither of them worked. Eventually father gave up and said I seemed back to normal. Little did he know, his little kitten was far from normal and now had a dirty, dirty secret.

Here I am today, 16 years old and better than ever. I'm the most popular girl at Rosedale High School and I'm dating Carter Morrison! He's the hottest guy in school and he's smart. I'd say i'm the luckiest girl in town.

Carter is in 11th grade just like me. I met him in choir class when it was the first week of school. The teacher paired us up with random people and told us to find a song to preform together in the next two weeks. Me and Carter were a little distant at first until we found out that we liked a lot of the same things.
