The cemetery was draped in black, as were the people who came. Tears were shed and blood was drawn, but nothing could compare to what Carrie felt. Her heart had been shattered when her mother left, and now that her father was dead, she felt as if she held no purpose. She had no one's shoulder to cry on but herselfs, and even then no tears would come for her eyes were as dry as the Sahara. Many people had said "Sorry" but she just walked away and pretended this was someone else's funeral, and not her fathers. She had been outside planting white roses, for those were her favorite flower, when a maid named Lilli had run out and told her to come to her dads room quickly. She had hurried up the stairs and burst through her fathers doors, to find him lying in his bed, with not so much as a breath left. That was the day her father died. It felt like just yesterday but was actually a week ago. After her father died she dispised color. Her once bright pink room she painted black, and all her gorgeous and colorful clothes she threw out and replaced them with black ones. Her cheerful emerald eyes turned gray and her once midnight black hair had faded into gray as well. There was no fixing her. Or so she thought....
