The water closes over my head. I can't feel my legs I don't want to look down because I'm afraid I may not have any.

The water around me has been stained red. My lungs demand oxygen but all thay can receive is water.

The shark stops, and start chewing on my stomach I can't feel a thing. Blood and gore float around me.

More and more water is filling my lungs. My eyes start to feel heavy and my lungs are burning. I close my eyes.

I'm not going to miss anything when I die, because I know I'm going to die. The saddest thing is that no ones going to be there to miss me.

Then my dad can get on with his life when I'm finally gone. Not even the woman at the counter will miss me, I like to think I knew her, she always gave me discounts.

but I know that was just a fantasy I was living. That someone really cared for me.

I take one more mouth full of water and I know I'm done. Goodbye dad. "She's finally dead!" I hear someone celebrate. My eyes shoot open.

I'm not under water anymore I'm laying on a white bed, with white sheets covering half my body. This isn't a hospital this is someone's room.

I'm breathing again! I take huge mouth fills of air which makes me feel really dizzy but I really don't care I will never take air for granted again!

I hear a door being opened, Tristan and Joseph walk in. I let out a breath that I didn't realize I had been holding.

"What just happened!?" I ask. "And why was someone yelling that I was dead?!"

"Because you were." Tristan says. "Up here." He says taping the side of his temple. "And sorry for yelling and celebrating but it took the shark a while and we just had to sit and wait until you we're dead so we were pretty glad when it ended." He finishes.

"I was dead up here?" I say mimicking his movement. "We were testing you. To see if you can use your powers yet, sub consciously. that's the easiest way to use them, in you're mind." Joseph says. "But we still need to work on it."

"Oh." I say shocked. "It felt so real." "That's how it's supposed to be." Tristan answers. "So you used you're powers?" I ask. "Yeah." He says.

"Messing with people's minds, my specialty." He adds. "So none of that was real?" "None." He confirms.

"Hungry?" Joseph asks "yes." I say. He takes my hand and helps me up,

we all walk out the door and down a hall Tristan walks in front. We stop at a door and he opens it, I look inside and see a small dining room with a small table in the center that has a blue table cloth on there.

We all sit down Tristan at the head of the table me on the left Joseph on the right. Tristan rings a bell and a small man comes out of a door I didn't see before.

Tristan tells him to make lunch the man gets right on it and scurries out the room.

"Kyran, we have some bad news to tell you." Joseph begins. "Your dad.. He was taken by the government he's still alive but we don't know if we can get him back."

I gasp. Dad... "It's not safe to go back to your house they know you live there, we have to send you somewhere safe."

I'm still in shock "you will try to get him back won't you?" "Of course we will." Joseph says smiling sympathetically. He reaches across the table and rubs his thumb on my hand.

"Where will you take me?" I ask trying to figure out how to breath again.

"We're enrolling you in a school. Three hundred kilometers away." School. School! "I can't go to school! I don't know how to act or what to do! anything like that!"

"Don't worry you'll learn in no time, it's good to socialize." Tristan replies. "But I don't know how to socialize!" I yell. "Practice makes perfect." Tristan says shrugging.

The little man comes back in and places down three trays, don't ask me how he brought them all at once.

I open the metal lid to mine and find a steak, mashed potato, and a glass of water. I take a sip. "Oh and Tristan's going to pose as your boyfriend."

The water I had in my mouth gets spat out all over Joseph "what?!" I screech. "I said-" he begins. "no I know what you said! But what?! Why do I need him" I point my finger in Tristan's direction "as my boyfriend?!"

"So no other boys get any Ideas, and you look like just another normal teenage girl." He says whipping the spit off his face "How long do I have to put up this act for?" I ask hoping it will all end as soon as it started.

"School term." I don't think I can last that long. I sigh in defeat "and your new name is Katy. We'll get into details later."

This is going to be a long school term.
