I was stirred awake by the flight attendant shaking my shoulder. "Miss we are in Lon- are you okay?" I wiped my face roughly. My eyes were burning and probably completely blood shot from my crying.
"Umm ya." I mumbled. Slowly nodding she pulled away and allowed me to gather my things and exit the empty plane. I didn't pay attention to the view outside the windows as I walked through a glass hallway.
A couple hours was all it took for me to gather my bags, hop in a cab and be dropped off at the small house i'd be staying in for the next couple weeks. Paying the driver, I jumped out and took my suitcases from the trunk. Rain poured down as I fiddled with the lock. "Finally." I sighed when the lock gave way and the door swung open.
The house wasn't large, but it would be enough for me. The main hallway broke off to a small bedroom with a double bed on the left, and a bathroom across from it. A little further down the hall was the small but quaint kitchen and sitting area topped off with a tv.
I was quite surprised to find a small porch and garden out in the back yard. I slowly took off my jacket and looked at my suitcases. 'Unpacking can wait' I thought as I head straight for the shower.
After scrubbing all of the airport grime off my skin, I exited the bathroom in a fluffy white towel and dragged my largest suitcase to the bedroom. Using one hand, I managed to move the suitcase up onto the bed. Giggling like an idiot, I found my comfy pj's and slipped them on.
Taking a look at the digital clock on the bedside table I groaned. It wasn't even three in the afternoon yet! "Whatever." I mumbled, and slid my suitcase off the bed before climbing in to the cool covers. It wasn't long before my eyes dropped, my mind becoming nothing but black.

The alarm blared on the digital clock signalling for me to get up. Groaning I rolled over from my now warm bed and pulled the cord from the electrical socket.
Wasting no time I buried my head back into the pillow and waited for sleep to take me away again. I could feel myself drifting off into a deep sleep again when a banging sound rang through the house.
I froze and gripped the pillow tighter hoping to god it was my imagination. I cringed when it echoed again through the house. Movement in the window in front of me. A hooded figure made it's way through the small flowerbed and to the centre of the large window.
Reality struck me at what was happening as the figure peeked in the window. A young man about nineteen or twenty stood in front of me. His light green eyes peaking out from under the hood of his black jacket.
He pointed to me then to the general direction of the door. Shaking my head I buried my head back into the pillows wishing for him to disappear. A complete stranger wishing to come in? I don't think so! A disturbing thought broke through my current fear at that moment. I had no one to call... No one to help me now if i were in trouble. I was completely alone now.
"What about the phone... Someone's number has to be posted there. Mother had to have had thought that far ahead knowing her." I thought to myself. With one more thought of reassurance i rose from the covers ignoring my stalker and ran to the kitchen cupboard that held the telephone.
A piece of paper was taped to the side with a name and number. The name was circled three or four times making it impossible to miss. 'Thomas'.
Quickly grabbing the phone I dialed "Thomas's" number and waited as the phone began to rang. "Hello, Thomas Moore speaking..." An annoyed british accent came from the other side of the line.
"Hello Thomas, this is Valerie Hayes. I'm visiting from Canada for a few weeks. Uh .. Your name was by my phone.. And i'm kind of in a tight spot." I rushed into the phone. The reply didn't come from the phone but from right behind me.
"That would be because I'm the one keeping an eye on you." Screaming in surprise, I dropped the phone. Neither of us made a move to catch it as it tumbled to the floor, smashing into pieces at contact. The man before me had to be 6ft three at his tallest. With his dark that was cropped short and his deep chocolate brown eyes he wasn't a pretty bad sight to wake up to. He took a step forward knocking me out of my drooling state.
"How did you get into my house!!" I yelled!! He pulled a set of keys from his pocket and jingled them in front of me.
"My house love. You are just staying in it."
"How did you know i was here though? I'm not due till .." I paused to look at the clock above the stove. It was 6am, wow! "Well for another 8 hours yet." Mumbling the last bit I began to relax.
"Your mother phoned me last night alerting us you were coming early. Hence the reason why your bed was already made when you came." He smiled, acting like it was the most obvious thing ever. My mouth formed into a big O as I thought over my last night with my mother. Something just didn't feel right over the whole situation. Setting it to the back of my mind I looked up again at Thomas.
"So are you like... My babysitter?" I asked in disgust. How could she? She probably only allowed me on the trip because she knew Thomas would watch me. I was an eighteen year old girl for crying out loud! Thomas just simply chuckled, "No, I volunteered to show you around London. Our mothers are very close friends you see, so I thought it would only be polite to be in some sense, a guide." A guide huh? Well this might not be so bad after all.
I sighed, "Alright Mr.Guide,"
"You can call me Tom."
I rolled my eyes at his interruption.
"Alright Tom, let me get ready and we can begin this .... Tour?" I giggles causing him to laugh along as well. With a quick nod and a stunning smile he turned towards the door.
"Oh Val, meet me at the coffee shop down the street to your left when your done." He quickly popped open his black umbrella and walked out into he rain.
"Well that was.... Weird." I muttered as I walked into the bathroom. I looked like crap. My hair was almost tangled into one solid knot. My makeup was smudged, eyes bloodshot, and tear stains left on my cheeks. Why had i been crying? My departure wasn't that bad.
I furiously scrubbed all traces of the ugly reflection away with hot water. After drying my face i brushed out my knotted up locks and out it back into a high ponytail. Skipping to my bedroom, i started humming a tune to myself.
I hurriedly pulled on a pair of skinny jeans, and a brown leather jacket over a white tank top with matching leather boots. Applying little make up i found myself ready and at the door with my purse and new set if house keys in my hand. I took a deep breath before opening the door and standing on the front porch, watching the rain come down under the safety of the roof. I popped my own red umbrella open and began following Tom's directions.
