Prologue

Samantha.
“Hey Abby!” those words rushed out of my mouth as I quickly rushed to my locker. “Hey Sammy! Why you rushing?” Abigail Carter, my best friend asked me. I shrugged, pacing around. I was worried about the big science quiz we have today. I mean, yeah I’m good at science but I am still worried. “Science quiz, Math test urgh!” I muttered anxiously, math and science problems rushed through my brain. “YOU’RE worried about THAT?! Seriously, Sam. You are like, a straight A student! C’mon, dude! Are you serious?” Abby laughed humorously, probably thinking it was a joke. Yea, I’m Samantha Chester. I’m a straight A student and a ‘nerd’. That’s what people call me, anyways. I’m average for my age, I have light brown hair, light grey eyes, and freckles spread out on my nose bridge. I guess I am the wallflower of my school. People only recognize me as the ‘nerd’ who gets straight A’s.
“Haha. Very funny, Abby! You know that Brianna Bridges is way smarter than me.” I rolled my eyes at her exaggeration. “Sam, look at me. Bri got a C on her music test. Look at me, Sam. You get everything A, A- or A+. You. Are. Better. Than. Brianna. Bridges.” She pronounced every word slowly, checking if I understood. Honestly, I felt like fainting. If Brianna Bridges got a C in music, I might get a C too! Shoot. Another thing to worry about. Curses. “OMFG. No way! Bri and a C are not two words that I would use in the same sentence.” I gasped silently. Abby nodded, understanding what I felt. Brianna Bridges is the hottest, and smartest (for me) girl in the school. She is head cheerleader, Queen Bee of our school and a total slut. My friends and some other people say I’m smarter than her, but I totally deny it. They’re my friends, they’re supposed to say that to me. “Well, bye bubba! Have to go to homeroom!” Abby rolls her eyes dramatically, that girl is a drama queen. I stuck my tongue out. I raced to room A104. After homeroom is free period. “Nerd.” I heard Brianna mutter under her breath. “Freak.” I heard her minions Ashley and Jessica mutter out, following Bri.
“Hey Sam!” I hear Frank Carter call out from the back seats. I pushed my black big frame glasses upwards. That was Abby’s fraternal twin. He’s a player, man whore, and a total badass. He’s Frank Carter, the guy with black swept hair and sea green eyes. “Hey yourself!” I retorted, he’s the reason Bri hates me. She thinks Frank likes me better than her. As if, I don’t even like Frank Yes you do! No I don’t! Now, stop it brain! I DO NOT LIKE FRANK CARTER! There. Wait, why is everyone staring at me like that?
You said it out loud, dimwit!

“Umm, who said that?” I winged it. Brianna looked at me like I was a freak, which I guess I was. “Freak, you even THINK out loud..” Brianna tried to insult me, not working -_-. Ahh, whatever. I’m a freak. I admit that. But, I never expected, that between days, I would actually fall for that Frank Carter.. Maybe, Maybe.. After all, fate is full of surprises!
