Jacob's P.O.V

The waves crashed against the cliffs and a harsh wind swept away my fringe from my face. I looked over at Edward before throwing myself of the cliff. I fell the 23 feet, and plunged into the dark water. A pleasant silence enveloped me, before thousands of bubbles appeared in front of me. In the middle of them I could see Edward's body.

We came up from the depths, deeply gasping for air. At least I did. Ed must have really good lungs since he isn't out of breath. We started swimming towards the beach, floating on top of the waves. When we got up on the sand, we fell down and just lied there.

I heard Edward chuckle. I chuckled to, and soon we were both laughing at absolutely nothing. I missed him. Edward I mean. We really got each other and knew each other well. Our friendship, is something I would never trade away.

Edward's P.O.V

It has been about a week since Jake's strange avoidance and then apology. We had been hanging out a lot together, but today I had a whole day together with my family. We are going hunting.

The animal blood filled my mouth and I swallowed greedily. It wasn't nearly as satisfying as human blood but it was enough to clench my thirst.

It had been harder than usual, the deer was fast and we had to hunt it quite awhile. Just as I was about to take another sip, a howl was heard in the distance. I looked up, listening intently and soon heard the sound of paws hitting the ground. I looked over at Carlisle whose eyes were wide and he quickly looked around us. He rose from his crouching position and breathed with a worried voice;

"We have to get out of here." Emmet frowned and licked his lips for remaining blood. "Why?" he asked meeting Carlisle's eyes.

"Because we're in the wrong territory" spoke Alice with a hint of fear in her quiet, soft voice. We heard another howl, closer this time, and that sat us of running.

I was fooling around with Seth, when Sam's howl reached us. There were blood suckers in our territory. I looked at Seth, and together we ran into the forest. When I phased, I was overwhelmed by the voices in my mind. The rest of the pack appeared to be angry, but we were all after the same thing; Blood suckers.

Bella came up beside me, and I shot her a quick grin before concentrating on the task at hand. Those filthy bloodsuckers, how dare they come into our territory and kill innocent animals. I growled and sped up, jumping over a log. I scented the air and looked over at Bells. They'd split up. I heard Sam in my mind. "Jacob, Bella, Seth, follow those two and leave the rest to us." I looked at my sister, and together with Seth we turned right, when the rest of the pack went left.

We followed the two leeches, one female and one male. They both had a sickly sweet smell, drenched in animal blood. I shivered as the smell hit me, and crinkled my muzzle. Suddenly, they both split up again. There was a moment of hesitation between us, before Seth and Bells sat of after the female, and I went after the male.

We crashed between the trees, him about 6 feet in front, and I closely behind. When I took the time to look where we were, I couldn't help but smile. Idiot. In his desperation of getting away, he had run straight towards the only dead-end in the whole of Forks. Wilsons cliff. A man named Wilson, took suicide by jumping from the top. It's impossible for anything to go up or down there. Something to do with the power of death and souls.

I smelled him stopping and standing still. I grinned. He can't go any further. I slowed down and stepped out from the trees into the meadow.

The trees were forming a circle around us, with the high cliff in front of the leech. I growled at his back, enjoying the smell of fear washing over him. And then he turned around. My heart froze. A whimper escaped my lips and I felt ripped in two as my eyes landed on his face, unable to believe what I was seeing. The leech, bloodsucker, my mortal enemy, standing in front of me, is Edward.

I took a step back not able to meet his eyes. What am I gonna do?! Kill him, he's a leech, a filthy bloodsucker! I shook my head. No, I can't do that, Edward's my friend. No he's your mortal enemy, someone you should kill, like right now! I whimpered and looked up again at Edwards confused face. Of course, he's wondering why a wolf is hesitating in killing him, or even attacking. Can't he see it's me? I looked deep into Edward's eyes and that's when it happened.

I could still hear the distant thoughts of my pack, but they seemed to tune out, as I looked deeper into the now black eyes of Edward. A light enveloped his body and nothing seemed to matter except him. The thoughts of killing him were drowned out by a buzzing sound, and I fell to the ground.

Edward's P.O.V

I watched as the wolf fell to the ground showing submission. 'Kill him! No I can't' . My eyes widened as his thoughts disappeared and I no longer could read them. What's going on? Why isn't he attacking? The wolf whimpered again and stood up on wobbly legs. He walked towards me, slowly and I flinched back instinctively. I looked at him with suspicious eyes, before I noticed he was just as scared and confused as me. I didn't know what exactly was going on but somehow in the back of my mind I trusted this wolf, my enemy since a hundred years back.

He walked closer, and I stayed in the same spot. He stopped, a few feet away. If I took one step forward, I would be able to touch him. He looked at me, almost longingly, and I couldn't help but get lost in his eyes. I don't know what happened, but it was like time froze.

That was until we heard rattling in the bushes a 100 feet away. The wolf's head snapped in that direction then back to me. He looked at me and took a step forward, almost as if he wanted to stay, a while longer. Then he bolted away in the opposite direction of the sound.

I looked after him, still in a daze when Alice came through the trees, looking at me worriedly. When she saw I was fine she frowned, and asked me with a confused voice:

"Edward are you alright? I had a vision of you being cornered by the wolf and then you disappeared. I was worried something had happened."

I looked at her and gave her a weak smile. "I'm fine" I answered. She nodded still frowning and together we went back to our house.
