~Jay~
"Danny? Lela?" I called, keeping my flashlight in one hand and Marilyn's trembling fingers in the other.
I felt so bad for making her feel like this, we were both confused and scared. Yes, I was admittedly terrified. I wasn't too much scared for my own life though, I was more scared of what would happen to Marilyn. I would never be able to forgive myself if anything happened to that angel. I should have listened to her, I should have.
We were still walking through the town, trying to be as silent as possible so it would be easier to hear our friends or anything else. Maybe that old woman really was a prank, like I said before. We would be freaking out for no reason. But I could tell that Marilyn didn't want to take any chances, and neither did I.
"What if something happened to them, Jay?"
"Nothing happened. They probably wondered off into the forest. You know how Celeste and Danny get when it comes to their make-out sessions. They ignore everything," I reassured her. "Maybe... maybe we just need to go look in the forest now."
She shot me a look, her face going pale and eyes becoming glossy. I knew that was the last thing she wanted to do, but there obviously isn't anyone answering us in the town.
"Come on," I grabbed her hand and began to pull her to the trees. "We have to find them."
She nodded and followed me. Right when we set our first step into the woods, a loud scream was heard behind us. We spun around, seeing no one.
"That sounded like one of the girls," Marilyn turned back towards the town. "Come on!"
She began to run as I trailed behind her. We ran back towards the dark buildings. Our loud footsteps were echoing through the old bricks and dark alley ways.
"Lela! Celeste!" Marilyn called in a loud voice.
I heard a loud thud come from one of the buildings that we were passing, so I came to a stop and shined my light over to an open door. There was no light coming from the inside, so I walked a few steps closer.
"Jay, come on!" I heard Marilyn call while running back towards me.
I grabbed her gently and told her to be quiet. She covered her mouth as I inched a few feet forward towards the building. I was one step away from going inside, when two figures jumped out and knocked Marilyn and I both on the ground. We all screamed as I tried to see what was attacking us, but it was only Josh and Lela. They had drips of blood running down the sides of their faces and their arms and legs. Lela was crying hysterically as Marilyn hugged her tightly.
"What the hell happened to you guys?" I tried to get Josh to look at me, but he was in some sort of shock.
"Lela, what happened?" I asked.
"Marilyn was right," She shook her head. "There are still people living here, and they do not like outsiders at all. We were attacked by a group of teenagers that beat Josh and I up and then they threw us in a ditch, but we got out and tried to hide in the building until we found you guys or Danny and Celeste."
She was choking on her words as Marilyn was trying to calm her down.
"But they weren't normal teenagers," Josh finally spoke up. "There was something wrong with them, like they were possessed. And they were wearing these creepy masks."
"We saw a woman dressed in a black wedding dress. She said she wasn't afraid to kill us if we didn't leave." Marilyn added.
I looked at her while she was still trying to calm Lela down. I rubbed my temples frustratedly, not being able to think clearly at all. All I wanted was to get my friends and I out of her safely, especially Marilyn.
