We got off the train onto the platform, as we  watched the first years gather around Hagrid.

"HELLO HAGRID!" I yell across the platform.

"Oh-er-Hello Hermione! How are you?"

"Great" I say happily

"Well see you in the great hall for the sorting" He replied.

"FIRST YEARS FOLLOW ME" Hagrid yells as he stomps away.

We start to walk to the castle.

"So do you have any ideas of what classes you are going to take this year, Hermione?" Said Ron, in a very snotty sort of way.

"Matter a fact i do. Last year, Professor McGonagall said she would be delighted to help me sort my classes. This year I'm taking 3 extra classes."

"Ugh" Said Ron under his breath.

We finally reaches the castle, and went into the Great Hall. We joined our friends Neville, Seamus, Dean, and Parvati.

We didn't get much time to chat when Dumbledore, our head master, taped his glass with a spoon, to get our attention. He stood up and said "Welcome back students. Today is the start of a fresh year. We will now begin the sorting." "McGonagall!" He yelled, and Professor McGonagall stood up and walked forward to a stool that was in front of the room. She began to call names. "Peter Parkinson" then out came a short, freckle covered boy. He sat on the stool and Professor McGonagall placed the old and ripped hat upon his head.

"Gryffindor" The hat yelled, and the whole Gryffindor table filled with applause and cheers. The Slytherins weren't too happy.

After watching all of the names be called, and the sorting finally over, it was time to eat. Food appeared on our dishes, and we all began to dig in.

When dinner was over, we headed up to the common room, feeling stuffed.
