Nikita Florence or so her alias name goes by in the system, walks along the Gotham streets once again. She never wanted to come back after her international travels with her new best friend yet this was her mentor who was in trouble also it was her actions that caused Nikita to be here again.
Nickita's POV:
Damn it, Selina why didn't you use the safe house? I thought leaning against the stone pillar.
Hello? A sleepy voice replied when I made a call to my new best friend also boyfriend.
"Hey, I just got into Gotham."
And you miss me already, love? He asked teasing me as usual only to get a reaction from me.
"You can say that, Seamus there's something about this that doesn't feel right."
Remember what I told you before you left to South America? That the job seemed risky with so many people on it.
"So basically you're telling me 'I told you so'," I sighed lightly rolling my eyes.
Tell me you love me and I'll be right over. He declares making me smile.
"Can't do lover boy, I love you too much before I drag anyone else into this. You have a duty in Ireland before you know it, I'll be back." I promised, he groans knowing he can't argue with me.
Alright, I love you, come back to me alive.
"Goodnight, Seamus." I finished ending the call then the hood over my head letting the rain soak me as I head into Old Town towards Selina's apartment. I avoid the local pick pockets by going through the back. I climbed the dumpster, jumped up, grabbed the ladder then pulled myself up. This seems too quiet and easy. Using my knife, I unhinge the lock on the window, making no sound once inside.
"Jesus!" I whispered staring at the mess in her apartment. Although Selina wasn't much of an organizer herself but the blood and broken furniture said something different. I go through her room searching for anything that her abductors left behind.
Bingo. I thought picking up a strand of hair that didn't belong to Selina even if it might be many one night stands. I know she never brings them to the apartment. I wrap the hair in a napkin putting it in my pocket. Then sudden noise came from behind me; it scared me to jerking my hand towards my gun hidden within my jacket. I moved swiftly and pointed at my foe instead of Hellhound or the other freak; it was Isis, Selina's cat snuggling against my feet.
"I missed you too." I sighed in relief, picking her in my arms until she began to hiss and bare her fangs towards a tall shadow in front of us that slowly approached us. I sigh deeply covering my face not that it'll do anything. The Bat saw my face.
"Listen, it took me hours to just get back in this God forsaken city, so I'll tell you what I know." I suggested. The Bat shows his mask face in the dim light while Isis calmed down then lays her body over my shoulder, meaning Batman has been here before around Isis and perhaps Selina too.
"Who are you?" He asked making me smile. I walk towards the kitchen opening the fridge for a beer.
"For the time being just call me Sasha." I lied using the first name that came in mind.
"Can you tell me-" He started but I caught him off before his questions came out into sentence. Isis jumps on the counter lying back down on her stomach watching me.
"As you can see the place was ransacked. My guess three guys since they didn't take anything of value like the cash stuck in her mattress or the jewelry hidden in her bathroom. They were looking for something else." I explained then drank from the bottle. In a flash the Bat slams his hand hard against the wall, shattering my beer away from my hand. I froze as droplets of beer and glass trickled over my face.
