The buzzing of the alarm clock pierced the young womans ears as she slept, feeling no motivation at all to stop the consistent din in her ear. After a few minutes, Brittany's mother started to bang on the door, yelling at her to turn the clock off. "God dammit, Brittany Elizabeth!" She could hear from the outside of her room, causing the drowsy teenager to pick herself off the bed, and finally press the off button on the still blaring clock.
Putting on her favorite brown boots, a loose, white top, and a pair of blue skinny jeans, Brittany smiled and nodded to herself as she perked her lips together at her outfit. "Perfect." She muttered to herself, before rushing to the bathroom and doing about half an hours worth of make-up, trying to make sure she looked perfect. Today was the day for Fall Pictures, which Brittany didn't mind, as long as she was perfect looking.
She was a relatively popular girl at school, nobody holding a grudge against her as far as she knew. Her neighbors were known for not having a very good relationship with her, but she didn't care. The residents of the quite large Cul-de-sac didn't bother her, so she didn't bother them. Jogging downstairs, the young brunette smiled as she read the note her annoyed mother wrote to her before leaving for work. "You're a pain in the ass, but if it weren't for you, I'd never be awake for work on time. Love, Mom." She said, reading the note out loud.
Focusing her view on the microwaves clock, she gasped as she saw that she'd spent nearly two and a half hours getting ready, leaving her with only four minutes to get to her bus stop. "Shit!" She had yelled out, grabbing her purse and running out the front door as quickly as she could. Making it to the bus stop as soon as the bus arrived, Brittany sighed with relief as she walked with the line of people onto the bus. Making her way to the back seat, she sat in the vacant spot as the bus's engine started up again, navigating through the neighborhood.
Noticing the bus making a turn towards the direction of her house, Brittany looked up, raising an eyebrow as she noticed a new group of students sitting by an unofficial stop. One was a blonde male, about the age of 16 or 17. He was roughly the height of 5 foot 11, and had a face Brittany didn't mind staring at. The sole girl of the group was a brunette that had the same clothing taste as Brittany, but obviously paid no attention to her makeup. The final person was a brunette male, presumably the girls twin, as both were of the same height and similar features.
She watched as the three entered the bus, taking a seat near her. "You guys do know that isn't a bus stop, right?" She asked with a hint of annoyance in her voice. "I mean, if it was, I would've been standing there. Its literally right in front of my house." She said with a slight chuckle, causing one of the twins to turn in her direction. The male, squinting his eyes a bit, scuffed before continuing to stare her down as he responded. "I can indeed prove to you that we were at an official bus stop, thank you very much." He muttered, before pulling out his schedule and showing Brittany the address, which was indeed her own. "Well, shit.." She whispered to herself. "Well, then you guys wouldn't mind a little extra company, hm?" She she asked confidently, smirking a bit.
The blonde boy turned to face Brittany, a smile spread across his face. "I wouldn't mind it at all! I'm Andrew, preferably Drew, and I just want to tell you that its great meeting you! But please, dont worry about Max and Nicole. From what they've told me, their mornings been uh.." He came to an instant stop, gently rubbing the back of his head. "I guess quite the predicament." He finally spit out from the back of his throat, an awkward smile arising.
"Alrighty then.. Well, I'm Brittany. Been here since I was about seven or eight, so... I was a little excited to see new neighbors moving in..." Brittany hesitantly admitted the last part, not wanting to seem clingy or weird. Max just scuffed, Nicole elbowing his stomach. "Alright.. So, did you guys know each other before the move, or?" She asked the three of them, a curious look embracing her face.
