Third person point of view
"The biology teacher?" Melissa's mum asked.
Melissa nodded with a huge blush on her cheeks and a few tears threatening to spill. Mrs Butler gave Melissa a sympathetic smile and sighed.
"It made sense after Miss Masterson said it, I mean, he spoke so highly of you and I know you've always had an affinity for biology and you've always been really good at it, but he was a little too apprasvie" Mrs Butler smiled.
Melissa gave a snort and covered her mouth as she tried to stop giggling, Mrs Butler smiled at her daughter as she rubbed the back of her neck.
"Yeah, he loves doing that, making it seem better than it is"
"Have you stayed over with him?"
Melissa's eyes widened and she refused to look up.
"Melissa, you're eighteen and as much as I don't really like the image of you with a teacher, I know you can't help who you fall for, if you have fallen for him?" Mrs Butler asked.
"I have" Melissa whispered.
Mrs Butler sat in silence for a moment as Melissa panted a little, waiting for her mums opinion and final verdict. Mrs Butler patted her daughters knee and Melissa looked up at her shyly.
"He's very handsome and seems very nice. Does he treat you alright?"
Melissa's heart leapt, was she really having this conversation with her mum? Shaking her head to get rid of the disbelief she gave a nervous laugh.
"He's amazing, he's so sweet and caring, he makes sure I'm alright and well, since he's a teacher he knows when to back off so I can focus on my work. Since he's been to uni he's helping me understand things about applying and what it would be like when I go and, I've even met his friends and they're all so great and they-"
"So it really was at this party that you got caught?"
Melissa coughed.
"Yeah..."
"He's not much older than you is he?"
"No, he's twenty four"
"Hrm..."
"Honestly mum, everything between Alex and I is great, I'm not just saying it, I really mean it" melissa looked into her mums eyes.
Mrs Butler nodded and smiled at her daughter.
"Your dad knows too, he's not as OK with it as I am...well...I'm not OK with it but, you're eighteen so I can't do much about it. I would just like you to wait until after the school year, you only have one month left and if you really do care about each other you can wait till then and that way Miss Masterson can't get either of you into trouble"
