ISABELLE
Who knew? Who knew that Dimitri Donaldson and Tristan Richardson would become my best friends over two hours?
We sat on one of the many benches in the park, pointing to people with a bad taste in clothes. There was a woman who wore something close to a circus costume and that was the most I had laughed in three years.
"I think it's time for lunch. It's on me." Dimitri smiled. I shook my head.
"If anyone needs to pay for lunch, it's me." I said.
But Tristan rolled his eyes.
"Shut up, both of you. I'll pay."
And with that, we made our way to the café near the park on the other side of the street.
It was well known for its sandwiches and smoothies.
We took a seat near the window, while Dimitri ordered a chicken wrap for Tristan and a corn salad for me, or as Dimitri says it (a corn salad for the little lady. At that point, my cheeks went from tomato red to beetroot red).
Overall, lunch was fun and delicious. Dimitri experienced a piece of cucumber falling out of his nose. But it could've been more fun if Rachel was here. She would all tell us to be mature, but that would only encourage us to laugh harder.
As we walked Dimitri home, Tristan gave me a mischievous wink. I raised my eyebrow, but he just grabbed my forearm and ran, pulling me with him.

TRISTAN
I had one last surprise for Isabelle. By the time we left Dimitri, the sun had gone down. I was sure that this would allow our friendship to last long. I slowed down as I saw a huge field ahead. I was worried if she didn't like it. Or if she had to go home all of a sudden...
Once we reached the field, I told her to take a look around. Isabelle's gaze averted from my eyes to her surroundings. Her eyes widened as she saw many stars above us like tiny lights on a huge blanket over is. A field of fresh grass stretched as far as the eye could see. There were mountains in the background. The sight made Isabelle tear up.
"How did you find this place?" She asked, completely spellbound.
"My mother used to take me here everyday for a picnic after I finished studying." I said, looking away. I didn't want to ruin the moment.
"So do you like it?" I asked, like a hyper puppy.
Isabelle nodded.
She liked it. She actually liked it. A wave of relief washed over me.
"I'm sorry about your mother." She smiled softly.
I just shrugged. People die. I didn't know if that was supposed to make me feel better, but whatever.
This night was sure to mark something extraordinary in her life. I was sure of it.

ISABELLE

I slowly walked into my bedroom and shut the door behind me. I inhaled and exhaled until I felt my beating heart calm down.

Tristan had just dropped me off. Again. The same with Dimitri. I thought I was going to have to prevent us from being enemies, but no. We were friends. Best friends.

Which reminded me of several years ago. My group of friends...

I sighed, and glanced at the clock one last time before removing every article f clothing, and stepped into the bathroom. I turned on the shower tap and waited for he water to warm up while I just stood there, staring at myself in the mirror, squealing like a Japanese school girl. Mu cheeks flushed a deep shade of beetroot red. I finally snapped out of my daze and stepped into the shower.

Strangely, once I did I recalled all the moments in my life when me and my friends were still together. I would have told myself that I would never forget their names but now, my memory was blank. Like it's been wiped away.

As I scrubbed my hair, I heard the doorbell ring. I sighed. I was in the shower, and the doorbell rang. Why me? I decided not to answer it, but then I thought of Mom. Mother...

I stepped out; luckily my hair was free of shampoo. I grabbed a bath robe, and walked to the door downstairs, trying not to slip every few feet or so.

I hid behind the door once I opened it, so that only my face peeked out. But there was no need for that. All time stopped right at that moment. My heart skipped a beat and made me feel faint. Like I could scream their name as loud as I could but that wouldn't be enough.

My hands were shaky as I threw myself at her ferociously...
