CHAPTER 1 : NOT AT HOME
"A...AA...And what is your name, sir?"she stuttered in disbelieve.
There's no possible way there's a whole other world out there beside Oz and Earth.
" I'm afraid I'm not in Kansas anymore"
"And I'm afraid tea time is over,"he replied, tossing the cup he had been "drinking out of" at her.
Dorothy dodged it just in time, shocked.
"Excuse me sir! Have you gone mad!?"
"Why, we're all mad dear." He giggled and smiled.
For a moment Dorothy was dumbstruck. Never had she met such a queer character. Even the way he dressed was quite strange. In an oversize hat and very faded tattered clothes. But what stood out to her the most was his hair.
It was extremely curl,at times it seemed to be orange, but then it appeared to be more red.
It puzzled her.At that moment the Hatter was shuffling through all the broken and damaged items that layed amoung the ground, completely ignoring Dorothy.
She started to feel awkward until she looked around her and gasped in amazement.
Everything seemed bizarre. Everywhere around her was bright and huge. Nothing like the dull, monotone Kansas she was use to. And not at all like Oz. She had wanted to find the rainbow and she found it, vibrantly on every shape and size. How she hadn't noticed it in the first place, she didn't know.
The Hatter stuck out like a sore thumb amoung the beautiful and gigantic forest.
She was so occupied, that she hadn't realized she stepped on a teapot. A high pitch squeak erupted from it, causing her to jump.
Two little hurt mouse eyes appeared out of the now cracked teapot.
A huge kackle from behind her made her turn around. It hadn't sounded like the hatter and it wasn't. A huge oversize hare sat beside the hatter giggling. Never had she seen one so big.
"I'm sorry, I didnt mean to step on him."
"Ahhhh he deserved it, I'd be more delighted if you did it again. Infact he should've been by that house, that lazy thing!"the hare.
"How could I!! Poor little thing" Dorothy cooed, reaching down.
Just when she was about to pick it up, the hare quicky snatched it from her grasp. "This old thing needs no sympathy."
The Hare and Hatter burst out laughing, the mouse didnt seem to mind it. It just closed its eyes and fell asleep in the hares hand.
Dorothy felt very offended,"you shouldn't be acting like that! Haven't you got any manners?!"
The Hare had started to get on her nerves and she didn't like the hatters attitude either. She crossed her arms across her chest and gave them a good stare down. But they didn't seem to noticed another thing she didn't like.
They both burst out into a tune:
Twinkle, twinkle, little bat...
Dorothy never heard the rest, she had been slowly slipping away. She hated leaving the little mouse with them and she never got their names (and they never got hers). She had to leave, find a way out.
Back to home sweet home were Aunt Mae was.
Dorothy was very much, not at home.
