CHAPTER 2 : STRANGE HAPPENINGS

It had felt like hours since she left her shattered house and the delusional hare and hatter.

The idea of never seeing her Aunt Mae and Kansas filled her head and she yearned for home. she was pretty sure she was hearing whispering, they for sure weren't coming from inside her head.

Then suddenly what the Hatter said came across her mind.

~We're all mad here~

"Surely not me", she thought.

"Well of course you are!"

Dorothy stopped in her tracks.
Surely that wasn't just her imagination. Looking around she spotted a cat, a very strange cat. It's fur was bright hot pink with a deep purple striped tint to its coat. This.feline reminded her very much of a punkstar with very unusual long crooked smile that seem to spread from cheek to cheek.

"what?"

Suddenly it vanished only to reappear right in front of her face, which terrified her greatly. Saying that it was now only a floating head.

"Of course you are,"he repeated again,"you wouldn't be here if you weren't".

Now that puzzled her even more. Everything in this place was plain out strange, she didn't like it other then all the colors. She was use to the normal custom, fitting in kind of girl.

She stood there speechless one again, unable to make a sound.

There's no possible way that I am mad... can it.?

"What are you, who are you?,"she muttered. She must have been thinking out loud.

"Why I'm the Cheshire cat and what I am is what I am."

"Who are you, madame?" he added.

Dorothy had never heard such speech before, everything seemed so different, everything was different!

"Why! My name is Dorothy Higgins!"

The way the cat bobbed all around and disapeared to and fro, made her believed he burst out in a song. That's how it was like at Oz.

But here the only singing she had heard came from the cooky companions she had first encounter.
That sounded twisted unlike the bouncy and joyful tunes of Oz.

"Can you tell me if there is a way out?"she questioned.

"Of course child."he purred,"follow your feet and they will lead the way."

Dorothy glared up at him with disappointment. She hoped:

"At least this creature would be sane"

But sure enough it too, was full of riddle and confusion. Again she tried to get an answer.

"Can you please tell which way I should go"

"That depends on were you want to go," he grinned.

"I...II...I'm not sure,"she stuttered.

"Then it doesn't matter which way you go!"

With a final wave of his paw, he dissolved in thin air, only leaving behind his bizarre smile and a simple and quick,

"Bye"

Dorothy started to become agrivated.

"Oh you silly, silly cat!!!"

And with stiff upper lip she contiued on her way.
