Chapter Two

20 2 1

When Henry pulled into the parking lot of my complex, I quickly clicked my seat belt off and hopped out of the car, shutting the door. Henry rolled the window down and smiled at me.

“Thanks for the ride,” I said, happy it had stopped raining.

“No problem, love.” He replied. My heart fluttered when he called me love. I started to walk away when I heard him call, “Hey!”

I turned around. “Are you going to Aria's party tomorrow?” He asked, resulting in a frown from me.

I shook my head. “I'm not a party person.”

He nodded in understanding. “Maybe one day we can catch the rest of Iron Man, yeah?”

I smiled and nodded. “I would like that.”

He grinned, dimples and all. “Bye Blue.” And drove away.

I sighed and walked into the lobby. I got a wave from the lovely Ms. Gerald, who lives right underneath us. When I went up to our apartment, Mom was sitting on the couch in her bathrobe, drinking a cup of tea. She didn't notice me until I shut the door.

“Oh, hi sweetie.” She grinned, setting down the chipping light blue mug. “How was the movie?”

I plopped down on the couch, not caring that my clothes were still a little bit damp and shrugged. “I didn't stay for the whole thing.” I said, sadly. “Not in the mood, I guess.”

“Oh,” Mom was thoughtful for a moment. “Why didn't Aria come up?”

“Aria didn't drive me home, Mom. Henry Daniels did.”

She grinned from ear to ear. “Isn't he that--”

I cut her off. “Yes, the guy I've liked since eighth grade. Come off it, Mom. I'm gonna go change.”

She chuckled and took a sip of her tea before turning her attention back to some mindless reality show on TV. I padded to my room and stripped off my tee shirt and jeans. I put on a black muscle tank top with the Batman logo on it and some black shorts. I threw my hair into a bun and decided to just let it air dry. Bingo was laying on my bed. And the book I was currently reading. When he saw my eyes flicker toward the book, he narrowed his as if he was daring me to try and grab it.

Unfortunately for him, I knew his weakness.

“Bingoooo,” I cooed while scratching the side of his neck. Behind my back, I held his favorite toy: A remote controlled mouse. I waved it in the air and his eyes got large. I mean like, his eyes were so large that they looked like they were all pupil. I threw it on the ground and made it move into the hallway. Bingo sprung and ran into the hallway. With my foot, I closed the door.

“Blue one, Bingo five.” I sighed to myself. Yes. My cat has beaten me that many times.

I sighed again and flopped onto my bed, pulling my glasses out from the drawer in my nightstand. Just as I was getting settled, my phone vibrated. When I checked, it said Henry <3<3

Look. I don't know who you think you are but you better stay away from my boyfriend or I will make your summer HELL. Don't test me. -Lila

I don't know what came over me but a throaty growl ripped from within me and I threw my phone hard against the wall. It made a slight crunching noise and landed in a basket full of dirty laundry.

“Blue, what the hell is going on?” My mom called from the living room.

“N-nothing, Mom.” I called back, stuttering.

Carefully, I retrieved my phone to see a large crack down the front. Thanks a lot, Lila. I thought, bitterly.

A/N: I know, it was terrible. More of a filler chapter. It'll get better, though. I promise. Sorry but, I have to do this. 10 votes and 5 comments for me to continue. I have to know people are reading. Sorry. :/
