When I was still getting calls every 2 minutes, Winnie stepped in and told me I could have a break from work. I gratefully took it and I wandered into where Dad was with the team. Dad let me try on a teen outfit. I almost fell down with the weight of the bullet-proof vest. Dad straightened it up and I finally found my balance. I held my pants up with a belt that dad had put a gun on it. Dad gave me a ear piece and I smiled at him. He knows it's always been my dream to follow in his footsteps.
I walked around with Dad and we went on a patrol together around the station. Sam came with us for about half the time but then he left to patrol with Jules. Greg called us and we went to Winnie. She said that a high school student from my high school was going to jump off the roof of the school. I was totally confused, what if it is a person that I know? That's what I don't want it to be. I hope it's not.
We all suited up and I'm actually going to go with them. I'm going to help since it's a person from my school and just in case it's a person I know who it is, I can help them. But I know I can help them if I want to work for Team one when I'm older. I walked with dad to his cop van and we climbed inside the van. Sam and Greg were together. Jules and Wordy and Dad and I went together. We drove to my high school.
Before we could even get to the school, I could see my best friend, Jamie Lynn, standing on the roof. On the brink of death. I wanted to scream at her to get down. But dad just patted me on the back and I tried to calm down. Greg grabbed me by the shoulders and told me he was going need my help on this one because I've known Jamie since kindergarten and we've been friends ever since.
