I work my way through the fence and start to walk home. I change directions remembering that Mary demanded me to go see my 'family'. I walk to the mansion where my mother and step-father live. I haven't seen Mother in so long, I think that I saw her six or seven months ago.

I get to the mansion and knock on the door, I hear someone coming to the door. A person opens the door and I see Mother with a shocked face which is most likely the look that is on my face too.

"Can I come in?" I say.

"Y-yes. Come-come in." Mother says shuddering and steps aside. "Where have you been Josephine? We've been worried sick about you."

"Really? I didn't know that you cared about me since Dad died."

"I do Josephi-"

"Well it doesn't look like that, you're living a perfect mansion " I say.

"Josephine--never mind. We haven't seen you in almost a year but it feels like a life time. You've grown so much I can't believe that you are sixteen years old. You're such a beautiful young woman-" Mother says.

"Cut the Crap, I'm just here for dinner," I say as I push my mother out of the way and run up the stairs to the room that was meant for me. I walk into the room and see that nothing has moved from the last time that I was here. I open the door of the wardrobe and pull out the turquois dress and stare at it not wanting to put it on, although that is the only dress that I will wear that's fancy.

After I get dressed I walk down the stairs and head to the dining room when I see in the corner of my eye Mother-sitting on a decorative chair that looks like it is very uncomfortable to sit on-quietly crying having one tear sliding down her cheek. I look over to her and see her holding a picture of Dad. I walk closer and see that she isn't even crying but actually has a smile on her face .

"You don't even care about him do you?" I say snatching the black and white picture out of her hand. "You just jumped into a relationship after he died."

"Whatever you are thinking I did love your father I just-do you think I didn't mourn for him. He was your father but he was my husband too."

"How long was it before you started seeing Ethan one of the most richest people in the city. Even when you know people are homeless, starving, and sick. And you two are sitting here eating all the food you want. Well guess what I can't live the life you two live, sitting and watching children die in the street," I say and start walking up the stairs again.

"Can I say something? You look as beautiful as the night of the wedding," Ethan says as he walks in the room commenting the dress that I wore on Mother and Ethan's wedding.

I run up the stairs and to my room and change into the tan tunic that I always wear. That mostly all of the citizens wear because it is the cheapest thing in the city that you can buy with the little money that they can afford. I shefe my sword and dagger and run down the stairs and see two bodyguards next to a woman with her back turned to me.

I slowly walk down to the front door and see that the woman is Madam Marget Hayward chef of the city council the main woman in charge that makes all of the finale decisions in the city. I look at her and ask to myself what is she doing here? She has no reason. Then I look to my left and see that the rest of the city council is in the large lobby.

"Hello Josephine, how are you?" Madam Hayward says in her too happy voice and fake smile. "I haven't seen you in a while. Where have you been?"

"Around. I might have been out when you were here, or when Mother and Ethan where out and you saw them," I say in my kindest voice and walk over to Mother. "You didn't say anything about other people coming over," I hiss at her.

"You didn't let me. You haven't been home in so long I just wanted to talk," she answers back.

"This is NOT my home, I live at home, the one that you have neglected and left to rot. Dad put everything in that home for you. He actually loved you. You wouldn't even go into his room when he was dying. I was the LAST one to see him alive. He NEVER wanted anything, he put all the money that he had into you and the home." I say yelling and all the faces look in our direction and even though they stare I continue. "How can you call this home? I live in a one room house and barely can stand all the space, in a one room house." I yell and storm out the door pushing everyone aside.

"Josephine!" Mother says as I slam the door shut.
