Chapter 4: Announcement

Beep! Beep! Beep--- Click!

"Uggh" I moaned while rubbing my eyes. Grabbed my glasses and cellphone from my desk and got up from my bed.

I wore my glasses and looked out my bedroom's window and saw a pitch black scenery. The whole city is still covered in darkness since it's still 3 in the morning. I woke up early because of yesterday's announcement that we need to be assembled at the gym at exactly 5 AM. It must be a very important news for us to be prepared for.

I then tiptoed my way towards the kitchen to prepare ny breakfast. I have to be quiet so as to not wake my brothers up. I lit up the kitchen's light bulb and hissed at the brightness. I turned the lights off since it was painful for my eyes, so I just used my cellphone's screen as a source of light.

I rummaged in the refrigerator and got myself two eggs and a pitcher of apple juice. I reached for the frying pan from the top closet which made a light banging sound. Turned the stove on and fried the eggs. I grabbed a plate and laid the eggs on.

After preparing my meal, I sat down and clasped my hands together and softly yelled "Salamat sa pagkain!" (Thank you for the meal!). When I was about to dig in, the lights went on that made me squint my eyes. I saw someone on the kitchen door.

"AAAAAHHH!!" Me and that someone flinched and screamed in unison.

"YUKI?!"

"KU-KUYA?!" (Big brother)

I sighed in relief when I realized it was only my big brother.

"Kuya Ryo! You scared me! Sheesh" I scolded him.

"Oi, oi, oi! You're the one that scared the crap out of me!" He retorted "I thought some burglar came in our house." He said while scratching the back of his head.

Kuya Ryo is the eldest of us three siblings. He has long black hair and always ties his hair in a pony tail. He is a 22-year-old college student and has a part time job as a manga artist. His mangas are good and is starting to be well known. He is the reason as to why I'm into drawing.

"Sorry" I bowed. I looked at the egg and offered some to Kuya Ryo "Want some eggs?"

"Naah" He said, yawning, and scratched his stomach with his right hand lifting his shirt slightly. "So, why are you up so early?"

"The school announced yesterday that we need to be assembled at 5 AM" I explained then took a bite of my fried egg.

"That school is pretty intense huh?" Kuya Ryo remarked while walking toward the refrigerator and grabbed a can of coke.

"Yup, but I can handle it"

"Uh-huh" My brother nodded and opened the can making a hiss sound that made me turn to his direction.

"Oh no you don't" I grabbed the can of coke from his hands.

"Hey! I was about to drink that!" My brother complained.

"Tanga! (Idiot). It's not good to drink soft drinks so early in the morning!" I nagged while pointing my forefingers on his face. "You'll have a stomach ache if you do."

"Oi! I'm the Kuya here so I can do what I want!" He grabbed the can from my grasp and started drinking it all in one gulp.

"Fine. But don't tell me I didn't told you so." I warned and went back to finish my breakfast.

"Hmph! You're starting to sound like an old woman."

We both glared at each other and stuck our tongues out.
