iv. run away
It's been a week and Evan hasn't talked to Jonathan at all, minus the one that he had gotten after dropping him off; that didn't count in his mind. And it hurt, but he knew that it was only partially his fault for not at least trying to talk to him.
He could hear his friends laughing like idiots from his headset, Tyler making some sort of snorting sound; probably aimed at Craig who kept spluttering on and on about a joke. David and Lui laughed, but they seemed like they were in their own worlds after that; Brock was off on a bathroom trip and Jonathan was nowhere to be found.
"Shut the fuck up, Mini!" Tyler yelled, before clearing his throat. "So, anyone know where the fuck Delirious is?"
A mess of negative noises greeted Evan and he suppressed a sigh; he didn't want to be reminded that his 'best friend' was off with his girlfriend, probably ignoring him on purpose and talking with the others like normal. It was sad, to say the least.
"Evan, do you know? You are best friends with the guy, sometime gay lovers, probably."
He groaned at Craig bringing up the fact that everyone still viewed them as best friends/secret lovers.
"Wow, someone got super touchy about that subject, huh?"
While he didn't want to admit it, it would be a lie if he said that being paired with Jonathan as more than friends bothered him. He didn't really know or care why; it had just become something so normal to hear everyday. That is, everyday until about a week ago.
"He's probably just that way because his gay lover couldn't make it to our gaming session. Yo, fucker, he's without wifi right now, so chill." Tyler said, boldly and without a single thought.
Evan rolled his eyes as he spoke. "Yeah, I know. Look, I'm going to go eat some lunch. I haven't eaten anything at all today."
He left the chat without a moment to spare, leaning back into his chair with a tired sigh. He was annoyed, not at Tyler, but at Jonathan for giving the others a bullshit excuse and not telling them the truth.
He knew that the guys would make a slight deal of it, but they were mostly trustworthy; after all, he had told them about him dating Sydney before they had broken up and they didn't reveal anything to their viewers until Evan did first.
Evan sighed before getting up, grabbing a jacket he had tossed carelessly onto his coffee table. He grabbed his keys and wallet off of the kitchen counter before leaving, the door slamming shut behind him. He'd care about the unlocked door later and regret it after, but he didn't want to care right now.
He just needed some sort of escape.

He's been driving around for the last hour or so, radio playing some sort of song that he couldn't begin to describe. It was probably just some song talking about drugs or sex; the usual songs that played on almost every station.
The light turned red and he felt himself lurch forward as he stopped, foot pressing as hard as it could on the brakes. His head hit the back of the seat lightly and he groaned as he tried to get his breath back; the seatbelt had suffocated his chest.
It stayed red, before it turned yellow, and then a green. His foot pressed the gas pedal, lighter than before as he took a right turn.
He had no idea where he was, just that he was still in Canada surrounded by unfamiliar people. The surroundings looked the same, cars still roared by, and when the time came, the snow would still fall in the same old places.
It was a new feeling to him; he's been living in this place for who knows how long, and it was only now that this feeling had popped up. Maybe it was just one of those things that he did feel, but never paid much attention to; he didn't want to.
Then there's this buzzing coming from his front pocket.
Evan slows down slightly, one hand off the wheel and rummaging through his pocket to get out his phone. A loud honk from behind made him speed up faster as his hand managed to get hold of his phone.
Jonathan
answer / declineAn irritated groan left his mouth before chucking the phone in the back seat, the buzzing now muffled.
Evan wanted to run away for a while and he was going to do exactly that.
