A/N: The title is still uncertain, Im just testing this out. Thought I should start up another story although I have a great track record of never finishing my stories due to me being the world's greatest procrastinator. Any critisism? Shall I go on with this story or any of my other stories?

Being invited to the Cruell's Annual End-of-the-Year Bash was no unpretentious honor in South Beach High. All of those socially ranked by mirth and popularity were the obvious attendants, but there was always the slight chance that they let in some unsuspecting loser that they thought one day could hold the standards to be one of them, a carbon copy credit card junkie.

Calixta had witnessed the transformations firsthand, how one day a person could go from mocking their gaudy getups to wearing them the next day, leaving behind a group of friends without even the blink of an eye just to be privileged in the "popular" presence. She dared a glance at the center table where an eruption of laughter endured, then rolled her eyes.

"Really, do they have to do this shit every year? How have their parents not killed them yet?"

She thought she wasn't being overheard, but suddenly two heads bobbed in her direction.

"Well, for one thing, their parents are never even home and they wipe their asses with money. I heard last year Beyonce crashed the party." Nicole stated triumphantly.

Julie scoffed, "Yeah, well My Super Sweet Sixteen asked them if they could tape their party freshman year and they said no."

Great, the gossip police hot on my tail.

"If you don't want us to go Calixta we'll just hang out at your place." Eli offered, but from the look in his eyes she knew that if the guys didn't go it would not only ruin their year, but she'll never hear the end of it.

"No guys its fine. I really don't care about it. Besides whose gonna dance with all of the pretty girls, get drunk and end up on the internet humping an inflatable dolphin in their pool?"

Dillon crimsoned under the laughter and defensively said, "Okay I thought we were past this!"

"Cal, I really don't understand why you don't come with us! I'm sure I could get you an invitation, Colton's in my next class and everybody loves you." Aiden coaxed.

She smirked, her cat eyes twinkling, but she knew that last line was a lie. Coming to prove her right was exhibit A, Ashley Cruell in the flesh, gauntly strutting her way towards the table. It was as if everyone's eyes surrendered to her, as they followed her every move.

"Hey boys, you coming this year?" She purred, blatantly ignoring Calixta who was unaffected by her spell. Yes, even most of the girls drooled; they clung onto every word she said and took notes of her every aspect, from her shoes to the way she spoke. Barf-er-roma.

"Wouldn't miss it", Jake winked.

So much for offering to ditch it, huh Jakey?

"Hmm something's missing here... Ah, where's Jay?"

"He's probably with Coach Hawthorn; his last game is coming up."

She already looked bored of the conversation and with one last wink she went back to her cave- well, you know what I mean. Of course she would ask for Jay; in fact Calixta bet that Jay was the only reason they were all invited to Ashley and her brother's stupid bash every year, well all of them except for her.

She felt a sense of déjà vu, just last year her and Celeste were making fun of the ridiculous party. She forced herself not to turn towards the table, she knew that she would be there; wearing a skirt too short and over-the-top shoes that they would make fun of too, all until she got an invitation last year and it was like nothing mattered but impressing them. Calixta wouldn't do that to her friends, and she thought that Celeste wouldn't either, but hey, you think you know a person.

"I'm gonna go to class early, I have to get some extra credit from Ms. Castillo."

"Extra credit? Calixta you've already got like the highest GPA, why would you need anything to make it higher?"

"Neeeerd", Aiden chanted. She stuck her tongue out at them and grabbed her bag, making sure to nudge them in the process.
