The sound of foot steps became louder in the empty hall that Calixta walked through. She barely had a chance to look back before someone covered her mouth and she was enveloped in darkness, hearing a door shut quietly behind her. She squirmed and was about to yell, until her captor whispered in her ear, "Shh, just wait till she leaves."

"Till who leaves?", she wanted to ask, but the obnoxious clicking of heels quieted her. As her eyes adjusted to the darkness, she noticed cleaning supplies, a mop, a bucket, and various sprays; she was in a janitors closet. After a few more minutes the sound died off.

"Okay, I think the coast is clear." Her captor removed his warm hand from her mouth and opened the door. As the light streamed in, her eyes momentarily widened at the realization of who he was.

"You scared the living bejeebers out of me, I thought I was gonna get raped or something!"

"Oh please, most girls would die to be stuck in a dark room with me." Colton raised his eyebrows suggestively.

"It must be my lucky day", Calixta sarcastically replied and rolled her eyes. He gave her a sideways glance and smirked.

"See you later, lucky girl."

"It's Calixta", she corrected, but the blare of the bell signaling the end of lunch droned out her voice. She rolled her eyes, but couldn't help thinking that it was true what he said. Most of the girls, if not all, would love to have been in her position, but she squelched the thought just as the halls started getting crowded and she went to class.

The walk home was a hot one. The sun beamed down on Calixta and seemed to be taunting her for not having a car like any normal high schooler. As she passed by the usual landmarks going home, she couldn't help her mind from drifting back to the weird run-in, or should she say encounter, with Colton.

He was probably running away from some crazy ex or an obsessed girl that wanted to sleep with him. But why'd he grab me? Maybe he thought I'd tell her where he ran off to. Ugh, why are you thinking about this who cares, its Colton Cruell he probably forgot all about it.

She unlocked the door to her quant two-story house and cherished the sweet gust of A/C. There was a sticky note on the fridge as expected.

Wont be home till late, leftovers in the fridge. Love, Mom.

She sighed, grabbing a bottle of water and heading up to her room. It was just her and her mom now that her brother was off in college; their father had died when they were younger from a heart attack, but she hardly remembered him.

She barely had time to relax before her doorbell rang over and over.

"Ugh I'm coming, I'm coming", she mumbled.

"Cal we were waiting for you for like half an hour!", Jake announced and the guys piled up in my living room as if it were their own home.

"I thought you guys all had practice today?"

"Didn't I tell you in lunch that since the seasons almost over they're giving us a break?" Aiden rolled his eyes.

"Oh shit, yeah I forgot!"

Colton crept back into her mind, you were a little distracted huh? Shut up- god now I'm talking to myself I'm just going to stop now goodbye. She shook her head and took a seat on the arm of the couch, since the other seats were being occupied.

"While you walked in the heat we were riding in style", Jay said with a wink.

"Yup, your minivan is a real lady killer Jay", Eli joked, and they all started cracking up except for Jay.

"Hey it has four wheels and an engine, im good! Plus its just temporary, on my birthday i'll be in a brand new baby-"

"Yeah yeah yeah your dream car", Calixta smirked, "So what are we gonna do tonight?"

The guys looked at each other like they were having a secret conversation, and all at once they turned to Calixta with mischievous smiles.

"I don't think Im gonna like where this is going..."

"Come on Cal just ONE shot and we'll stop bothering you!" Dillon yelled over the loud music.

Calixta shook her head, making her curls bounce around like springs.

"I've told you guys a thousand times Im never going to drink!", she giggled.

"Never say never!" Jake chugged down the last of his drink and went to retrieve another bottle.

Truthfully, Calixta had never been to parties before last summer, when she finally let the guys drag her to one. She would rather curl up with a book in the sanctity of her own home, chowing down on some Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey, but she had to admit, getting out once in a while gave her a thrill that could not be fulfilled from sitting at home.

The pulsating vibration of the speakers ricocheted off the walls, and she soon felt herself sensually swaying to the beat naturally. Her spanish blood pumped through her veins; her hips knew exactly what to do as if it were second nature. It was a sight to see. Apart from the other girls at parties who grinded and twirled like cheap gogo dancers, Calixta held her own and seemed to be lost in another world. Her creamy tanned skin glittered against the myraid of lights.

"We're gonna have to start putting you on a leash Cal", Aiden teased.

"What are you talking about?"

They all looked at her like if she lost her mind; she was so oblivious to the attention. Not only had everyone been staring, either with envy or admiration at her, but almost every guy had asked to get her a drink, which she politely declined. She realized what they were saying and smiled.

"Maybe we're gonna have to get them leashes!" She laughed. They all smiled at her and shook their heads. Halfway through the party Jake had ran off with a girl, Eli was having a deep conversation with a nice girl from their Chemistry class, Dillon was in a drinking contest with the quarterback from a neighbor school, and all that was left was Aiden and Jay who were hanging out with Calixta and a few other people out in the back of the house.

She realize how large the house was. Compared to her house, this house was a mansion; three stories high with large windows and landscaping that would put any Home magazine to shame. They were having a conversation about what they were going to do after high school when a voice interrupted.

"Having fun out here? Much more calmer than inside." Colton came up from behind Calixta. Her heart leapt, but she kept her face neutral.

Get ahold of yourself woman, you're acting like an idiot!

But she couldn't help it, Colton looked absolutely delicious in just a pair of dark jeans and a navy button-up rolled up to his elbows.

"Yeah, it was getting too stuffy in there we needed a break. We were just about to play truth or dare actually, wanna join?" Jessica said flirtatiously. Calixta gave her a look that said, "What the hell are you doing?", but everyone seemed to agree with the idea, nodding their heads.

Colton shrugged, "Sure."
